Your one outstanding memory from each show?

Follow my lead....
* Leeds 2006: The one where Eddie talked about his 'Dubya f***ing without a condom' dream.
* Wembley 2007: The one where I heard The Long Road for the first time.
* Hartford 2008: The one where it was so hot it was "like breathing underwater".
* Shepherds Bush 2009: The one where Ronnie Wood showed up
* O2 London 2009: The one where they opened with Release.
* O2 Dublin 2010: The one where they played a new, unreleased song for the first time.
* Hyde Park 2010: The one where they opened with GTF and where I was surrounded by idiots but enjoyed it anyway

Your turn - think of each show you've been to in turn. What's the first thing you remember?

Eddie telling some girl he's gonna shit on her head
East Rutherford 2006 #1:
The crappy sound in the bleachers
Footsteps (the only song you could hear)
Philly 2009 #2:
The inaudible echoey mess eminating from the stage
The butchered versions of song after song
Bros in Phillies jerseys everywhere
Philly 2010:
The dead silence
so sometimes my favorite memories are not the show itself but part of the package.
One recent meaningful memory was KC, lightning storm on the eve of show night. Got a balcony at the hotel, drinking wine, listening to PJ, watching a most awesome display of nature and wondering if Eddie and the guys were seeing it too (ok I'm weird )
and then concert night Eddie mentions the awesome lightning. It was a nice connection.
Ok I'll give it a go here's what sticks out
Eddie's speech before Nothingman in Hartford
Indifference encore in Columbia
Crazy Mary passing the wine bottle in Atl wishing I was closer
EV Arc in Milwaukee brings me to tears
weird wine sipper cups in Toronto but a great friendly crowd
Eddie giving me a pick in Philly and me really feeling a part of the show... just blown away
missing the flight to Cincy what a cool town surrounded by river and hills
EV Atl was like "Groundhog Day" the movie- awesome both shows
obnoxious mean crowd in Atlantic City Eddie I Believe in Miracles and JB's PJ karaoke makes the trip
applauding Eddie's Mom on her B-day in SD
JB's broken foot, he's a trooper, Atl Lakewood and the Bush mask thingy and Eddie covers the Beatles
is that it? ? one more
first concert at Lakewood '98 tailgating with fans and friends and in the concert the shirtless guy next to me who knew every word to every song! at the top of his lungs!!
Looking forward to many more memories......PPTS!!!!
oops Vote for Change, not so nice policemen, maybe cause I was singing WMA
Bristow 2003: Band starts playing "Why Go" for the first time in 8 years. Two guys in front of me give each other a mega high-five.
Reading 2004: The crowd outsings Eddie during the opener "Love Boat Captain." My first indoor show.
Atlantic City 1 2005: Seeing PJ in the small Borgata event room! I was about 10-15 rows back. Amazing.
Atlantic City 2 2005: Debut of "Gone" and the incessant "Drop the Leash" chants. (Also, "Breath" into "SOLAT" and the newlywed couple dancing to "Harvest Moon")
Camden 1 2006: "Last Kiss" with the convicts. Ugh. OK, good thoughts. My first "Leash."
Washington DC 2006: "Masters of War" and "Fuckin' Up"! Awesome Reaper poster.
Va Beach 2008: FRONT ROW far left (Mike's side). I'll always remember "Sleight of Hand" in the cool breeze.
Washington DC 2008: "You" trilogy and an incredibly badass "RVM."
Philly 2 2009: EVACUAAAAATIOOONN!
Philly 3 2009: Best show ever. So many to choose from, but I freaked out during "Sonic Reducer."
Bristow 2010: "All Those Yesterdays." Lots of Yield.
06: Camden, Washington DC, 08: Va Beach, Washington DC
09: Philly 2+3, 10: Bristow, 11: East Troy PJ20 1+2, 13: Baltimore, Charlottesville
Hard To Imagine
Philly 2009 night 2
No Way
Philly 2009 night 3
In Hiding <-- it was so LOUD
MSG 2010 Night 1
I Got Shit
MSG 2010 Night 2
This night is it's own 100% untouchable - It was and still is just a bubble of a moment in time, that is indeed beyond words, that choosing just a moment or song would not even convey the moment before nor the moment after and the whole night would be tarnished - So I say ALL OF MSG 2010 NIGHT 2

Mansfield, 6/28/2008 -- Douchebag security in the parking lots and then missing Eddie's preset. Once we were inside it was awesome.
Toronto, 8/21/2009 -- Pearl Jam opening for Pearl Jam. Thank you Ted Leo.
Hartford, 5/15/2010 -- OTOTO --> Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love.
Boston, 5/17/2010 -- Release, Undone, Smile, Crown of Thorns...simply the best concert I have ever seen.
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
One other is probably dead side stage about 12 rows up on mike's side 6/3 east rutherford 2. the power went out during animal and and i spilled beer while bouncing during even flow before i am mine and in between songs.. i bent over and apologized. she said it's ok, no problem. it was meg ryan. lol.
Lisbon night 1, September 4th 2006: The end of 'Black' was magical. Eddie produced some ungodly high tones and then went into the 'we belong together' tag which the crowd sang soooo loud. Comes through amazingly well on the bootleg.
Lisbon night 2, September 5th 2006: The party-like atmosphere during 'Rockin in the Free World'. Pure chaos, such an intense version.
Paris, September 11th 2006: Hearing '1/2 Full' for the first time.
Verona, September 16th 2006: 'Release' in the rain
Milan, September 17th 2006: 'Daughter'
Wembley, June 18th 2007: I remember 'Faithfull' being especially good that night. The crowd took over the final chorus which sounded great. Also, Ed told a funny about Bush and Blair being like drunk drivers so we shouldn't give them keys to the car
Dusseldorf, June 21st 2007: Ed had tears in his eyes at the end of 'Alive'. I don't think anyone expected this show to be so powerful and it just blew me and everyone else away.
Copenhagen, June 26th 2007: Love Reign Over Me gets its live debut. A little rusty, but a special moment still.
Nijmegen, June 28th 2007: Finally hearing 'Nothingman'. The red balloons during the encore break was awesome too.
Manchester, August 17th 2009: Indifference was beautiful.
Belfast: the 'Happy Birthdfay' to Brendan, Tremor Christ (!!!), No Way. Pretty much the whole show.
Berlin: The filming of 'Unthought Known', Ed's Roskilde speech, the moment of silence, Push Me Pull Me, Kick Out The Jams with Peter Buck from REM, one of the best versions of 'Black' I've ever heard. The weather, the venue, the company.
2022: Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Amsterdam II
Mansfield '08 Night II: Satans Bed, after a great tailgating session before the show with some great ppl.
Chicago '09 night I: Great version of Love reing o'er me
Boston '10: Wow the energy in the Garden that night, and Not for You which I really wanted to hear live
Moore Theatre - 2/6/95: 2nd of the famous 'Piss Bottle Men' shows. The Neil Young encore has to be the outstanding memory. Also - I got a last minute ticket and we walked in just as they were starting Release.
AroSpace - 5/7/98: First Matt Cameron show so that was fun to see. The thing I remember most is Ed showing us his new Michael Jordan bong and the 45 of Last Kiss he had bought the day prior.
Memorial Stadium 7/21 & 7/2 1998: I remember Ed pre set before Sean Lennon when no one was around and I was front and center as well as Mike beating a swinging Mr. Pickles with his guitar. There were also times when the crowd was jumping so crazily that my feet were off the ground for minutes at a time
Phoenix - 10/22/00: Definately the crazy monsoon weather (see the Long Road from Touring Band)
Key Arena 11/5 & 11/6 2000: I was far away from the stage but the energy was mad and I remember when they played Alive for I think the first time in a while after the tragedy. You could feel it
MGM Grand - 6/6/03: I just remember drinking a lot and Ed making Vegas jokes.
Phoenix 6/7/03: I remember Ed struggling to sing all night and mentioning it was like sucking on a blo dryer. They've not been back since.
Boston 5.25.03: The debut of Parachutes and return of Leash
The Gorge 7/22 and 7/23 2006: The fucking HEAT
Key Arena 9/21 & 9/22 2009: The debut of so many live Backspacer songs and the massive goose bumps they gave me. Also - Why Go from night two made me go berzerk
LA - 10/6/09: Chris Cornell coming out, then Cantrell, and I am still freaking out about that to this day.....

Mike comes out and does two songs for soundcheck. Then to hear Oceans for the opener and Spin the Black Circle it was pretty awesome for a first show.
Do you even like Pearl Jam? this sounds like you had no fun at all!
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.

Hearing Footsteps and Letherman. Going nuts to DTE
Leeds 2006:
Daughter with It's Ok tagged on. Tears in the eye moment.
Wembly 2007:
Present Tense - as per Daughter, above
Dusseldorf 2007:
First show outside the UK. When Ed pulled a guy out of the crowd in a Ramones t-shirt, hoping for a local, and he was from Uruguay!
Shepherds Bush 2009:
Just being there in small venue. Interstellar Overdrive. All Along The Watchtower and Brother!
Manchester 2009:
Fan club seats 20ft from the stage. Ed's technicall issues with Rearviewmirror making the song last about 10 minutes.
Adelaide 2009:
Doing a life-long dream of going to Oz and they opened with Release! I can now die happy.
Melbourne 2009:
Roof closed at the Docklands Stadium and hearing Indifference. Ed covering The Needle and the Damage Done.
Sydney 2009:
Ed being sick, but getting a chance to hear Mankind. 41 degrees of heat and the stadium running out of water. D'oh!
Brisbane 2009:
The If You Want Blood/Blood experiment.
MSG I 2010:
Again, just being there. What a venue, what a great bunch of people.
MSG II 2010:
The setlist! Black, Red, Yellow, Push Me Pull Me, Sweet Lew, Hunger Strike (more tears) and finally getting to hear the Star Spangled Banner!!!
Dublin 2010:
Hearing Of the Earth for the first time.
Beflast 2010:
Being right down the front (I rarely stand at gigs these days, but this was worth it!)
London 2010:
Opening with GTF. Getting to see two encores at a European festival...
Berlin 2009 - my best friend birthday, my longest show, great venue, great crowd
Berlin 2010 - moment of silence, the best Black ever, opening with Long Road, In hiding, Push me pull me
Gdynia 2010 - Interstellar Overdrive, loudest singing, great energy and Jeff in green forum t-shirt
East Rutherford 2 -- Amazing version of Porch; Dont Gimme no Lip; power went out during Animal
2008
MSG1 - Hard to Imagine/Save you opener; All along the watchtower; drop the leash
MSG2 - Release opener; Ace Frehley joining the band for Black Diamond; great RVM
Beacon - acoustic set in a small theater! Masters of War, Harvest Moon, Undone. Great version of Black
2009
Philly3 - incredible crowd; Deep, Breath, Parting Ways, Off he goes, Hold on, Tremor Christ, Untitled/MFC, Habit -- whole set was amazing. Sharing an elevator at my hotel with Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly!
2010
Newark - people thought it would be a "greatest hits" show, but it was anything but - Of the Girl/Brain of J opener was probably the best one-two punch ive seen. Alone, Immortality, Brother, Glorified G, Jersey Girl. Great venue for an arena. Crowd and show gets unfairly bashed; i loved it.
MSG1 - lots of build up; nice start with Sometimes/Breakerfall. Surprised they repeated You Are (but i still loved it). I got Id, Mankind. I remember thinking do they play "I believe in miracles" at every MSG show!?
MSG2 - Hunger Strike!!!! Its a great feeling to be sitting at MSG and hear Ed say "for the serious collector"! and, even better, Ben Bridwell comes out with cheat sheet and Ed says something about trying something different! maybe the best second encore package ive seen. Beautiful Nothingman. Great version of Black, but almost ruined by the guy who snuck into my row loudly butchering it (off-key would be charitable).

Reading 06 - Very close, Crown of Throwns
London 07 - Incredible setlist, great seats
Shepherds Bush 09 -Brilliant venue, Ronnie
O2 09 - Incredible sound Black at last. Playing to 11.15 in London latest gig ever by 25 mins last 2 songs with house lights on
Dublin 10 - close, Lukin into Not For You
Hyde Park 10 - Drunken nobs, Red Mosqiuto
Folks these days just don't do nothing simple for the love of it
Millstreet, Cork 24October1996 - Chatting to Eddie in the rain outside before the show about Self Pollution Radio, Hovercraft and Falling Down
The Point, Dublin 26October1996 - Stone saying they'd take a request, the crowd calling for Hunger Strike, Ed starting to say that they don't know how, but being cut off by Stone showing him how - and the crowd helping out with Chris' part
The Point, Dublin 01June2000 - Thinking "There goes another show without hearing Black"... just before they kicked into Black as the very last song of the night. And as if that wasn't enough, Ed dived for the last time, and I caught him.
The Astoria, London 20April2006 - The whole experience of seeing PJ up close and personal, of being at one of those pre-release shows where you hear new songs for the first time, and being utterly satisfied as they wound up Yellow Ledbetter with the lights up... and then to get Alive as an unexpected bonus.
The Point, Dublin 23August2006 - Tossing Eddie a monster mask and him throwing the cork from his bottle back at me... and then later he came back with a tambourine.
Wembley Arena, London 18June2007 - Finally... my first Long Road (now my most frequent opener). Honourable mention to the 4-song anti-war diatribe in the 2nd encore.
The Forum, Copenhagen 26June2007 - Hanging out with a guy who'd lost a friend at Roskilde and hearing them soundcheck Light Years, Love Boat Captain and Love, Reign O'er Me... twice. And then hearing it all again in the context of such a heady show.
Goeffertpark, Nijmegen 28June2007 - The crowd taking over No More and making it their own - at that moment, it felt more like an anti-war rally than a show.
MEN Arena, Manchester 17August2009 - Hearing Sleight of Hand for the first time
The O2, London 18August2009 - Meeting my girl for the first time. Simple as that.
The O2, Dublin 22June2010 - Of the Earth: Wondering how many more different directions this new song was going to go in before it wound down
The Odyssey, Belfast 23June2010 - A few months ago, there was no way I would ever have expected to hear No Way, but there it was - no introduction, no fanfare, abrupt finish and onto the next song... as if it had always belonged in setlists (which it always should have)
Hyde Park, London 25June2010 - The "bad" show. After surviving the brutality of the front for only 2 songs, and ending up way back amongst the chattering fairweathers, the girl in front turned to me and snottily said "Excuse me, but I paid to listen to Eddie Vedder sing..." She got her comeuppance about 30 seconds later when Ed gave the crowd the mike...
Wuhlheide, Berlin 30June2010 - Watching the tribute lights start to spread around the arena as Ed began to talk about the guys who died at Roskilde. Chills...

Some dude coming up on stage during Alive, the security went for him and Eddie tells them to let him stay. Eddie lets him sing for a while, grabs him and spins him round on his shoulders. The guy asks Eddie to stage dive with him, they both back up, run to the edge of the stage and Eddie doesn't jump, other guy does. Classic.
The lights during RVM. The stage backdrop was just a plain screen and spotlights were placed on all members of the band throwing up their shadows on the screen, first Mike, then Jeff, Eddie (with Jack behind) and finally Stone one at a time, as the song gets fasters the lights alternate quicker like some crazy rock god flicker book! Coolest thing I have ever seen at a gig.
2000 London, Wembley:
How happy the wife was to get GTF, Daughter, Wishlist, DTE, Black, Betterman, and Soon Forget on the Ukelele.
2007 London, Wembley:
Finally got Crazy Mary, after being teased with Eddie saying "Take a bottle, pass it around" whilst swigging his wine in Paris in 96.
2009 Manchester, Evening News Arena:
Eddie getting annoyed.
2009 London, 02:
My nephew asking before the show what I wanted them to play, and saying: I'd love Release as an opener, and a few of VS but I'd really like Footsteps - but that won't happen! Our faces when we realised we were getting Release, most of the first set was pre 96 and then Footsteps, just unforgettable moment.
2010 London, Hyde Park:
Red Mosquito with Ben Harper, I'm not his biggest fan, but that was a great bit of slide guitar!
Here's to many more outstanding memories to come - see you at the next one.
It's hard to have fun when you can't hear what's going on. When Pearl Jam gets a better sound system, maybe I'll think about going to see them again.
Buffalo 5-10-10

18th June 2007
Wembly 18th June 2007
Reading 06 - Crown of Thorns, Baba O
Wembley 07 - my first Long Road, Faithfull - wow, the whole set list in general. Being centre about 4 rows back, it was so rough I had to get out, hubby lost his shoe following me out over the barrier! He watched whole show with only one shoe, went back to get it after and bumped into our friends that we first met in Dublin
Copenhagen 07 - Ed preset TYAAM. Hearing LROM at soundcheck, then first outing of song at the show. Breath.
MSG1 08 - seeing PJ in the US - seated! - weird but nice and relaxed. Watching the floor crowd during Why Go, just amazing, actually watching the floor crowd all night
MSG2 08 - OPENING WITH RELEASE!!! so wanted to hear this song for SO long, this remains my best PJ concert experience ever, it was just religious - I could of left after that song and been happy, still gives me goosebumps when I think about it now
Shepherds Bush 09 - winning 10C lottery. Being right on the barrier. Soldier of Love (Ed doing his little Satan's Bed dance during the intro to it)
MEN 09 - the meet up in the Moon under Water, really fun. Hearing for the first time - Last Exit, Not for You, Smile
London 09 - hearing Footsteps during soundcheck (trying not to get my hopes up) then they did actually play it
Dublin 10 - Nothingman, Lukin into Not for You. Bad sound - i was right on a speaker Mikes side - until I moved
Belfast 10 - Fantastic sound. Tremor Christ, No Way, full Save it for Later tag, the whole set list was brilliant. Spent the concert with a load of friends singing and dancing our asses off
London 10 - bit disappointing, people around me were only interested in Ten stuff then talked for the rest of the show :x I should of moved but I didn't. Getting to hear Red Mosquito at last. Missing Under Pressure cos we were still in the pub. Meet up in the pub was great though

Bern 2006: The one that was my first show and I went nuts all over the place when they came out.
Berlin 2009: The one where even my girlfriend had to admit that PJ wasn't that bad a band.
Lisbon 2010: The one with In Hiding and Smile. Nuff said.

This whole show was very special to me but one moment which stands out was when Ed was talking about Joe Strummer. I thought at first he was going to play Know Your Rights but when he mentioned it being a song with The Mescaleros I had a feeling it was going to be Long Shadow from Streetcore which is one of my favourite JS songs. Wrong! Joe was such a lovely man and hearing his song come to life gave me chills I'll never forget. Special mention to Long Road though being my first ever live PJ song..
Belfast Odyssey - 2010:
When your favourite song (Sometimes) starts the show, 2nd fav. (Present Tense) & 3rd (Black) are in the same setlist it's hard to pick one outstanding moment but we also had No Way, Crazy Mary, RVM, Animal and many others. Tremor Christ was the one that did it and seeing lots of legs sticking out of the seething mass below us on the floor was a fantastic sight. Absolutely amazing gig!!
London - 2010:
Good festival setlist and decent length of show too spent with the wonderful Kerr (Pke) family although the women stayed further back to chill on the grass. Many highlights from the set with my favourite moment being part of a frenzied pogo to Go during the encores.
Berlin - 2010:
I wouldn't know where to start! Sitting outside drinking wine on the grass outside the venue listening to the soundcheck was a great start as was Long Road to start the set. A lot has been said about Black, the speech, Comeback etc but my moment was probably the feeling of going 100mph through the set to being hit in the chest like a sledghammer by the double blow of The End and Just Breathe. They completely stopped me in my tracks and the night suddenly seemed to last a bit longer. Waving up to Dimi on the side to show him I'd lost the Freebird t-shirt in a quest to get it onstage and seeing him up there having the time of his life and knowing how he was feeling because we all felt it.. Amazing gig, night, fans and band!! Thanks for the memories!!

Fargo 2003- The one where I had the closest seats I've ever had.
St Paul 2003- The one where they opened with my favorite song.
Boston I 2004- The one where the crowd singing along to Release gave me chills.
Winnipeg 2005- The one where YieldInHiding threw his cellphone on stage and Ed sang into it.
Thunder Bay 2005- The one that is much better on the boot than it was in person.
Chicago I 06- The one where I was on shrooms.
Chicago II 06- The one where Ed sang Last Kiss from the soundboard but was way behind the band so it was really bad.
St Paul I 06- The one where I found out "full set" meant one main set with no encores.
St Paul II 06- The one where Jeff played the bassline for It's OK in the Daughter tag but the band blueballed everyone by not actually doing the tag.
San Diego 06- The one where Ed got emotional and explained Long Road.
Los Angeles I 06- The one where the setlist was way too similar to San Diego to appreciate at the time.
Los Angeles II 06- The one where I went to the show by myself.
Lollapalooza 07- The one where I had to break up a fight.
Bonnaroo 08- The one that is the best show I will probably ever see by the band.
Chicago I 09- The one where the band wore their hearts on their sleeves.
Philadelphia IV 09- The one with a shit ton of songs played.
Kansas City 10- The other one where they opened with my favorite song, and the one I won tenth row dead center lottery tickets.
