Ramones, not really, i remember "a hands across your face" parody they did back in the hands across america time, 1986 or so, that was pretty good and poignant, but nobody ever seems to know what i'm talking about when i bring it up.
Good morning everyone! How's everyone this weekend? Start of the NFL for the rest of the teams. Hope everyone is doing well. Started my day listening (and still listening) to U2 at the Civic Center back in 2005, their "John Lennon show".
I just realized we are running on 25 strong pages. Where are we now...17 or 184EVCT?

Good morning boys (and ladies if any besides me)
Colts took a beating this weekend and Brady is uninjured :(
bad start to the NFL for me...but Im sure the masses would disagree - seems everyone had a good weekend besides the Colts. Hows about some Monday night football...should b a good one....like to see Ray Lewis eat up some Sanchez
anyways...were up to 18 can we find at least 2 more to make it 204EVCT??
anybody??
Im not huge into the Ramones myself...but I do like Ed's rendition of I Believe in Miracles
I do think the band is required for full effects on any other Ramones songs tho...so,
I know this has been done before, but I gotta see it first hand!!
Eddie, please!!!
I caught you knockin'
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don't understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.
I've seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
like a settin' sun.

It was a great weekend for me...Giants won, Cowboys lost, and even though the Colts lost, Peyton Manning gave me a great performance for fantasy football. I hope the Ravens destroy the Jets. I'm starting to get annoyed by all this hype of the Jets.

I used to be on an endless run
Believed in miracles 'cuz I'm one
I've been blessed with the power to survive
After all these years I'm still alive
I'm out here kickin with the band
I am no longer a solitary man
Everyday my time runs out
Live like a fool, that's what i was about
Oh I belive in miracles
I believe in a better world for me and you
Oh Oh I believe in miracles
I believe in a better world for me and you

I would say it's not. The lyrics were written by Joey Ramone many years ago. How have you been, twisted? The MMJ thread has gone dormant the last week. By the way, I have a new appreciation for Masterplan thanks to you. Never gave that one much thought until you brought it up.

Weekend was ok...woulda been better if the Colts didnt lose horribly yesterday, and I was hoping for some more action from the dynamic duo in Cincy but that was a no go too...better luck next week I guess...planning my stop to the packy for some Octoberfest for Monday night Football!!
well, we have a new post in the MMJ thread from he who forgets re: Celebracion De La Ciudad which is badass and I presume u have already...
Masterplan and you said I was over-thinking things...right
its all about the hunt, the capture, and the well...u know what comes next
love this song...Yim's a dirty boy
I've got a masterplan babe,
I been workin on it from the start.
Pluggin in all of the numbers, watchin it on all of the charts.
Just cause it starts off slow babe,
Doesn't mean it don't have a heart.
You'll be walkin round showin off someday
And it'll take you right back to the start.
It's everything that you want babe.
It's everything that you need.
Soft and warm al the time, make you want it over and over.
Strong on the horizon,
But ends up bein really so sweet... oh so sweet.
Sometimes I wanna lay down babe.
Sometimes I wanna stand up and fight.
Sometimes it runs its course in a day.
Sometimes it goes for night after night.
Know that it will start off strong babe,
And it will end up weak in the end.
Just like the heart you break of a love babe,
Just like the hand you take of a friend.
It's everything that you want babe.
It's everything that you need.
Soft and warm all the time, make you want it over and over.
Strong on the horizon,
But ends up bein really so sweet... oh so sweet...

Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Everyone you meet
Why in the world are we here?
Surely not to live in pain and tear
Why on earth are you there
When you're everywhere
Come and get you share
I freakin love this song.

Okay, I just noticed I have 4,999 posts, so I'm making #5k a good one. This is somewhat a dubious distinction having five thousand posts. It shows what a complete dork I am for wasting as much time as I do on this here forum. But what it also does is make me reflect on the past year or so since I've been posting and the friendships I've made with the common theme of celebrating the greatest band in the world. Through this board, I have reconnected with one of my oldest and dearest friends after over a decade. It is truly a blessing to have a friend like youngster in my life again after all this time. Others I have met at Team McCready fundraisers and during that glorious triad of shows this May as well. Crazy Breed, LoveBoatAdmiral, CantKeepMeHere, ms. wes c. addle, Dissidentman, and joseevolution. I met twisted thoughts at the My Morning Jacket concert in Holyoke last month as well. She and her boyfriend Shawn are very very cool people to say the least. To the others, my boy Newch91, the lovely unlost dogs, generous and kind mfc2006, hilarious and straight-up zany Drop1The0Leash, and the always entertaining BinauralJam...I'll have the distinct pleasure of meeting you all at the EVCT11 pre-party. That, my friends, you can take to the bank. Pearl Jam has been an integral part of my life since 1996, when I first saw them that memorable night in Hartford. They have been with me through the good times and the bad, better or worse for exactly half my life. Yet for 13 of those 14 years I was unknowingly denying myself the opportunity to truly understand what this band is really all about: community. You guys make the sweet even sweeter. So on that excessively corny and sappy note, I bid you all good evening.
Fenway
PS In addition, LukinFan, dimitrispearljam, norm, JearlPam, 81, pandora, he.who.forgets, chad and eyed, Black Diamond, neilybabes and arq all kick ass as well. Big fan of all you crazy kids.

Great post brother.
It really does make you think on how music really brings people together. If it wasn't for this message board I would never had the opportunity to become good friends again after all these years. Funny to think we have known each other since before Pearl Jam was a band. But here we are all these years later and it's like nothing changed. It's a pleasure to have a great friend like you and look forward to going to more shows with you (I promise the next one I won't throw up my pint of JD all over the Mansfield lawn).

FENWAY!!! WAY TO MAKE A BADASS 5K POST!!
I couldnt have said it any better....being here really does make you realize that there are good people in the world and...well, its refreshing.... Sometimes the people you see on a day to day basis make you forget that. Pearl Jam is the greatest band in the world aside from that, and also because of that (does that make sense? :ugeek: ). Fenway - it was awesome meeting you! Ya know? Hey, I guess in hindsight it was better I did that on the lawn instead of someones back or shoes. It was a Petty concert too of all things. If it was PJ I def would have been closer.
Hi kids, I'm back after 5 days in Downeast Maine. You've got to go if you've never been... amazing.
So, I'm loving Fenway's 5,000th post (and honored to have earned a mention!) and happy to see the thread is moving foward.
No confirmation from Ed yet? Must be busy with the wedding plans. I'm sure he's excited about the Hartford show. And if he needs a ride from the airport, I'd be happy to pick him up. I hope he doesn't mind traveling with three well-behaved dogs. Naw, he'd probably love that...
i dont think tables should be a problem...and anyways, after a few beers...who needs a table? we can get all cozy and whatnot on the ground on some blankets....
everyone could bring some type of food, a table and beverage
hows about some fireworks for when Ed arrives? Then, we could play on bigscreen for him his song that he sang/created for the Cubs, and then, after that we'll play Scott Stapp's song for the Marlins...just for a laugh and to show him how awesome he (Ed) is, because other people try so hard to be just like him?? We could just make a crappy projector screen out of a sheet or something...that way, in furtherance of showing our appreciation for Ed, we can throw eggs and tomatoes at it while Scott Stapp is on screen. After that, we replace the screen, and play a slideshow of Ed/PJ pics whilst playing PJ boots...
yes, this is all coming together very nicely
glad to see u back unlost....thought maybe you had to take down your co-worker :? at which point she reported you for over use of internet while on the clock

Not corny at all. I loved what you had to say. It was nice. I'm glad I joined this club. I've "met" great people on here also: you, youngster, twisted thoughts, unlost dogs, dimitris, BinauralJam, tremors. Now if only I can meet all of you in person, which will happen at EVCT11!!
Hartford 96 was your first show?? That's awesome. That was my cousin's first PJ show also. I love that bootleg so much. Great show.

Nope, I'm here. Was enjoying Downeast Maine for five days. Gorgeous, but no 3G service. Which was actually good!

Believed in miracles 'cuz I'm one
I've been blessed with the power to survive
After all these years I'm still alive
I'm out here kickin with the band
I am no longer a solitary man
Everyday my time runs out
Live like a fool, that's what i was about
Oh I belive in miracles
I believe in a better world for me and you
Oh Oh I believe in miracles
I believe in a better world for me and you
so is that a no on the solo I believe in miracles Fenway?
goddamn u for making me read between the lines on a Monday
Weekend was ok...woulda been better if the Colts didnt lose horribly yesterday, and I was hoping for some more action from the dynamic duo in Cincy but that was a no go too...better luck next week I guess...planning my stop to the packy for some Octoberfest for Monday night Football!!
well, we have a new post in the MMJ thread from he who forgets re: Celebracion De La Ciudad which is badass and I presume u have already...
Masterplan
its all about the hunt, the capture, and the well...u know what comes next
love this song...Yim's a dirty boy
I was lucky enough to see Ed perform this solo during the Chicago I show in 09. It would sound even better in CT on an acoustic in an intimate venue.

Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Everyone you meet
Why in the world are we here?
Surely not to live in pain and tear
Why on earth are you there
When you're everywhere
Come and get you share
I freakin love this song.

Just wish we had more time to chill...damn weekday concerts in the middle of the woods  I cant freakin wait till the next PJ tour so I can meet the rest of you crazy mofos!! Youngster - throwing up JD in the lawn :P sounds like something I would do
CT4EV UNITE!!
Ya know? Hey, I guess in hindsight it was better I did that on the lawn instead of someones back or shoes. It was a Petty concert too of all things. If it was PJ I def would have been closer.

Do we have enough tables for food?
everyone could bring some type of food, a table and beverage
hows about some fireworks for when Ed arrives?
