Woke up Sunday morning with no voice.

    No money.

The Team McCready sticker I put on my car... no longer there. (Whose car did I put it on?!? Never play with bumper stickers when you've been enjoying 2-for-1 beers all afternoon).

But... I did make it back home and was on the boat enjoying an artfully prepared Bloody Mary with Mr. Unlost.

    :D

    Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat show...

Thanks to anyone and everyone that got him here!

See you guys down at the Black Bear. I'll be wearing a blue Titleist hat.

I think I met you and your wife (Peruvian?) at Black Bear?

I think we might have met briefly, but I'm certainly not married yet. Wayyyy too immature for that at this juncture. I was at the front table with youngster, unlost, Newch and Mr. and Mrs. twisted thoughts.

Wow, all I did was put a bumper sticker on the wrong car.

Fenway woke up the next day with a Peruvian wife.

I know...but PJ world wise for me, nothing really to look forward to. I guess the new album and movie and book. But shows wise...nothing.

Why don't you try and swing up to Canada for the Montreal or Ottawa shows? I did the hike from Ottawa to Hartford for the Ed show...its not that bad of a drive.

If not, the movie seems to be shaping up to be something real special...soundtrack and book with that release...new album just around the corner, sure to be another tour of some sorts in 2012.

Oh and Ed on Letterman TONIGHT :-)

show and pre-party was awesome. Awesome! My poster got a little beat up but it'll frame nicely still. Really wish I had planned in advance for that. All the same, That was an amazing time. Though I did wake up with an empty wallet, one heck of a hangover, and that post-awesome-show depression.

Meeting you all was the total icing on the cake on Saturday! We really showed Ed how great CT is and I hope he takes note when Newch launches his next campaign for PJ12. I was a crazy fan before Saturday, now I am in a whole new zone...can't even give it a name. Reliving each moment and basically understanding how Ed can be going so strong 20 years into his career...that voice is so beyond anything recordings can offer. I am addicted to the bootlegs ad they are closer than the studio stuff.
Might need an intervention if I keep going like this

 Who knows what my next campaign will be. It won't be for a while. I'm just hoping he convinces the band to play two shows in Hartford next time they play here. Hartford crowd always delivers and the band always delivers.

Im pretty sure they got banned from Hartford after the 98 show. They didn't come back till after The Meadows was no longer The Meadows, and under new ownership.

I like to think they got banned from Great Woods too, after blowing the curfew in 03, hence the reason they went to the Garden in 04 and 06...they didn't get back to Great Woods till after that venue changed hands also.

They could've gone to the Civic Center during those tours. Why did they get banned?

1996 - Riots in the lawn. The fence got taken down. Cops w/ Riot gear shooting people w/ bean bags. Then 1998 Ed was fighting w/ security who was fuckin w/ people in the crowd up front. Security was also apparently using massive amounts of pepper spray at this show also... I wasnt at either of those shows unfortunately, but it was either the band or the venue mgmt who decided PJ probably shouldn't play there anymore. They didnt go back to "The Meadows" until 2006, after it had changed hands a few times. I assume they didnt play the civic center at that point b/c they were against playing venues that didnt have seats...they didnt want to play anywhere in the states that had a GA section after what happened at Roskilde.

^^ That would actually be opposite then. The Civic Center more often than not has seats on the floor (did for the PJ show last year) and no GA, and The Meadows had/has the lawn which is GA

i was referring to GA pit for crowd surfing.... Do people crowd surf in the lawn :? :?: I cant see that working out so well... considering the slope
Also, while there is a GA floor in the civic center and all arenas, they have seats that they put in place for PJ. Never will you see a real GA floor in an arena for a PJ show.

I think I remember hearing that. I do remember that the chain link fence was definitely knocked down in 2008 and 2006 though we only saw it after the fact as we were leaving.

Hey guys, I managed to got to the NYC 2 night. It was amazing and I got to the VIP party, but I have to admit I had the best night at Hatford! Even with the guests and all the great people I met, I felt like I was a bit of a fish out of water...I think this thread had made me far attached to you all

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that a fantastic setlist and guests does not the best show make!!! It's the people in the crowd....IMO. (I did meet some great people, though)

So Hartford is No 1 for me.
