Ive been to I believe 25 Pearl Jam shows and some of them on consecutive days at the same venue but it seems like at the last show in one venue or the only show at one venue Eddie will say something like: "See you next year". IN boston this year eddie said something about them playin 27 shows in the boston area. at the end of the show he said ill see you all at show number 30. @ least boston has 3 more shows hehe. But he also said something like, We will be back real soon when i saw them in Halifax NOva Scotia in 2005 after their one and only stop in that city. SO take it as you will but to me the band seemed to be having more fun on stage during this tour then in 2009 and a way better time them in 1998 when i first saw them live. If i was a betting man and I am not i would say Pjam is gonna be around for at least another decade although with the reemergencde of Soundgarden maybe JAck will come back. Although I doubt that. haha

You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense

Jack would never had left if it weren't for health reasons. He can't hold up on tour. Matt is a machine. I'm not sure who they'd get if Matt left, although, I don't think Matt is leaving.

Rumours that they are going to play in South America are going for months, but it is in the last maybe five days that time (November) and place (Sao Paolo) are mentioned. We will probably know very soon.
Besides, Soundgarden tour, Eddie's wedding, new documentary, side projects, they are busy before they even start new recording. And what about Mike's singing lessons, he must be behind.

EV said in London last year that was it for some time - 10 months later they were here again

right now the band may intend to take a rest. For how long I bet they haven't decided yet, could be 3 months or 12.

But rest assured these guys are far from done. They just keep getting better and better

To add to the discussion; remember when Eddie told us in Camden in 2008, "Say Goodbye to the Spectrum for us!" The rest of the story is HISTORY!! :D The band will be fine.

You know..I haven't read any posts in this thread, except for the first four or five, but the original poster isn't an 'idiot' for posting this. Come on..have a little respect. Some...read a little more into things than others, but it isn't cause for an insult.

I have often thought it would be cool to see Zak Starkey play with Pearl Jam.

The only way this can be solved is to put me up for free in NYC whenever I need a place to stay.

The thing everyone has to remember is that Pearl Jam does not tour like a normal band! They are not on the road for years @ a time! They go out for a few months then go home for a few months then go back out! Then take a little time off!

Anybody down for a new Brad album/tour, maybe another EV solo album/tour, and the triumphant return of Soundgarden?

    I certainly am.

EV solo and Soundgarden for sure. Right now I would rather see Soundgarden announce shows then Pearl Jam anyways.

Yup. We were at Camden 2 in 2008, "Say goodbye to the Spectrum for us." Then we went to all four Philly shows. :D

My guess: another tour or album within nine months.

  • I think EV just meant actual shows.

PJ will definitely still be active. Ed already mentioned putting Of The Earth on a new album if it goes well live, and they still have to actually write the rest of the record. Then they have to record it, master it, finish the legalities behind the release, and then plan the next tour.
  • I hope they take a break....I need to save my money for their 20th Anny show (flight, hotel and show w/ poster and shirt)

I was going to say that. He said they wouldn't be back in Europe for a while and it wasn't even a year. Haha. I'll be happy if a SG tour, an Ed Solo, and a Mike solo tour all come to London - I don't ask for much!
