Beatles, but very close for sure. One thing can't be denied is that both are great rock bands that have stood the test of time. What really impressed me about the Beatles is that when they called it quits they had the balls to never get back together, and after Lennon passed the other three never reunited and tried to capitalize with some bullshit tour, unlike the doors, does anyone really think the doors are the doors without Jim .

Thanks for the link!!! How cool is Keith????? I really did forget how good this album is! I have been listening to it now on and off since I got the CD and can not get it out of my head. The extras are someting most modern bands could only dream of making! Have you seen the documentary about the making of it??
In the debate about the Beetles and the Stones.... the Beetles started it but the Stones refined and completed what I think defined what a rock band could be (particuarly the late 60s and early 70s)...

If I was banished to the moon I'd rather take the remastered 'Exile On Main Street' with me.
I wonder if they have record players on the moon?
I meant the documentary. I should've wrote that.

I'm thinking the Beatles were much more influential on music for decades to follow... but I'd rather listen to the Stones. It seems like I have to be a certain mood to really enjoy the Beatles, where as any day can be a Stones Day...
I love Exile, but man... Sticky Fingers is one of my favorite albums of all time. If the guitar intro to Can't You Hear Me Knocking doesn't get your heart pumping, nothing will.
