If you have the app really the only problem is reading your messages. But I have an answer to that in the "answer to forum on iPhone" thread. If you don't have the app then you can't read the post on the mobile site. So the app is the best choice when using the iPhone. they need to give us an option of viewing in classic.

I'm no longer able to post anything from the app either though. Plus, the format is just more burdensome in general.

Edit: I was just able to post from the app on my second try, after being logged out on the first try. Still sucks if you write a long post and then it says you're logged out and you have to re-write everything. As long as it's inconsistent, I still say it's not worth it. Very frustrating.

I think I'll wait.
Its not something i need to have, i dont neeeed to check the board every second.

Its not as important as the angry birds app, is what i'm saying

So, are they just ignoring the iPhone users? The app doesn't work properly so a lot of us aren't buying it. Since that is the case, can't they just fix the background color so we can view the forums on the website?

...yeah, it seems like the background color in Safari ipod/iphone issue became an issue right when they were releasing the APP. I hope they didn't sabotage one to make money in the other. I used to read this forum on my iphone every morning. Now I don't. So I end up using this website less. (3 hours a day instead of 4 )

The only way to see the site is to buy the app. Going through safari to pearljam.com and logging on to the forum is not iPhone friendly, you can't see anything. If you want to check your pm's.... Checkout my thread "answer to forum on the iPhone."

I'm using the app now. No issues other than the pm's... You are limited on things you can do like seeing your and other members avatars. You cant add your own profile pic/ avatar. Can't see your post count, can't do a search for a certain thread. I'm sure there are others thing you can't do. It's worth it though.

Yep this is a blind reply. Don't know what the discussion is about cause I can't read it, but please fix the forum on the iPhone. It means I can't browse the 10C board on the toilet at work.

EDIT: Ok so i can read it now on my Mac. The App is not a good alternative. Sure you can see everything, but it's slow as hell and takes ages to load. I like having multiple threads open at once. Also, it turns off music when you load it? Sucky. Come on, it ain't hard to modify the iPhone stylesheet for us.

My Iphone app works wonderfull, but when I try to log in to the site thru the app it doesnt work, meaning my log in username or password doesnt work. Wondering is it the same as the website or not? If so my doenst work. Please help!!!

I had this problem... Safari's background colour needs to be customised, but the options do not exist... SO i looked for another browser... a free browser for iphone...

I found 'Opera Mini' (free version of Opera) has an option in settings to make the website you've loaded go into 'Mobile View', which means you can READ the thing, but it's not the same format... Black text on white background.
Not sure why The text from the forum comes out white on white... was very annoying, but I've found Opera Mini to Display the Forums three different ways.

1. Normal Opera Mini viewing - white on white - unreadable.(The smiley faces laugh at you because you cannot see the text)

2. Mobile view ' black text on white' readable, but hard to navigate thru pages. (Page numbers grouped together with no ability to zoom... skinny fingers A MUST!)

3. Came up once or twice with the same format as a PC displaying the forum... I wish i knew how i did it!!

<edit> This is WITHOUT the Pearl Jam App.

P.S. Okat tried the other 'massively customisable' browser... didn't have the option....

I'm too lazy to do this...

Ten Club should give us the option to be able to view the forum in full view on our iPhone rather than requiring us to view the iPhone version. Just my two cents...
