Our first son is going to be born today!
After being 10 days overdue, and going through a day of wavering about induction, we scheduled a c-section for this afternoon.
Keep us in your thoughts around 3 p.m. (EST)!

I’m surprised you didn’t consider the following names:

Gordie; Ted; Terry; Pavel; Henrick; Stevie; Mule; and Nicklas

I'm being completely serious, Henrick James and Nicklas James were both right up there, and for the exact same reason you're thinking. Hank's my guy and Nick is her's

When they tell you "walk in and DON'T LOOK AT HER until you're BEHIND the curtain"...

    LOOK!

That is... if you can handle guts hanging out of her stomach and such. I thought it was really cool... for some reason.

If you don't have an iron stomach like me... maybe don't look. :D

So, that old wive's tale about more baby's being born on full moons?
    Turns out it's true.
Six women went into labor today at our hospital and they called and said that because of staffing issues, it wouldn't be safe to have the baby today.
    So they rescheduled until tomorrow.
I know it's for the best, but I'm still getting impatient!

in my 38 years as a man on this planet
i have heard many a story about babies shitty everywhere.
on themselves, up their backs, down their legs and back up their necks down to the floor and across the crib.
    holy shit, dude.

i have changed one diaper in my life.
my nephew shit himself in the backseat of my car.
he had shit up his back.
it was fantastic and stunk so terrible i about puked on him.

funny thing is, Little E (his name is ethan) is so awesome he makes me laugh.
ever see a dude in a diaper that's on backwards and inside out and all crooked?
that's little e after my quality changing skills.

I don't blame you, I'd be impatient as hell! But, something like this needs to be done the safest way.

Good luck to you, and hang in there for this super long day ahead of you. :)

Hopefully your little guy will decide to make an appearance on his own before then. If the weather is nice, and mama is feeling good... walk walk walk walk walk. Gravity really helps get labor started (baby's head pressing against the cervix is what triggers the hormones to start labor)!

Best wishes to your growing family, and for a safe, healthy delivery!
