How about a sweeping change of immigration reform that begins with agreements with Mexico? Work out some sort of agreement on migrant worker visa programs... with Mexican workers on Mexican base pay scales? Limits on the percentage of migrant workers American companies and businesses can employ?
Maybe a fast track to citizenship for able bodied Mexicans in exchange for military enlistment/deployment? Illegals deported back to Mexico, billed to Mexico? Place equal responsibility on Mexico to move toward reform of their corrupt immigration department? Paths to citizenship for Mexicans who have been here with long term employment records and no criminal records? How about legalizing marijuana and have tobacco giant Phillip Morris and the American Tobacco Company put the cartels out of business? Incarcerate convicted Mexicans who are involved in criminal activity here on Mexico's dime?
How about we look for a long term, lasting humanitarian solution that does not involve dropping Napalm or cluster bombs on our own soil?

Just curious, what ideas aren't you crazy about, and what are your suggestions?

Besides legalizing pot (which probably isn't going to happen for a long time), the rest seem like achievable, common-sense ideas to deal with a problem that isn't going away with just force and money thrown at it. We seem to try that tactic with all of our problems, and are surprised when it never works.

Cosmo, I think you are on a good track with your ideas. I'd also add that CEO's, not some middle manager, should be JAILED for hiring illegals.

You are 100% correct on Mexico changing their laws too. They should not dictate what we do until they lead the way.

Well I'll admit Fox is biased to some degree. But I do believe stories like this are indeed FACTUAL. However some will use the FoxNews as an excuse to discredit any meaningful story. It is easier for the weak-minded to do this instead of using facts in a discussion, similar to calling people names (EX. "Your(e) a joke") or swearing.

Fox is reporting on some oil spill, but that can't be true.

I couldn't care less about Fox News, but do you think threats against the police in the inner city don't happen every day? The ONLY reason Fox is reporting it, is because it involved the border/immigration issue.

And it wasn't even like it was a threat from some big cartel against law enforcement altogether.. Not even from people specifically, but "the word is", that if these two local cops, are ever off-duty, and intercepted any more drug trafficking, they'd be targeted...

BRY we don't need to bend over either, I don't understand whay all you people think we should just give in to mexico and the illegals that are here and come across WE DON'T OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING !!! if I had my way the US would round up the people here that are not legal and send them home...all of them and then shut down the borders and make people that want to live here become legal citizens and learn english and not just mexico but everybody.
