may you are just trying to show us how great Pearl Jam really is by showing us Tool only sang like 12 songs and PJ usually rips through 28-33 per show - Tool Sucks!

"Eon Blue Apocalypse" is one track and is more of an interlude than a song. So 10, not 12. But regardless, Tool do not suck, they are just a completely different animal from PJ and should not be compared.

    How long are their shows?

Most of Tool's albums are more of interludes than songs, especially the last one.

Incorrect. There was only one interlude on 10,000 Days.

Clearly you've never been to a Tool show before.

That set list took an hour and 50 minutes to get through, and it was awesome 46&2 killed it... And Danny Carey is the greatest drummer from this generation of rock.

Show was awesome, visuals were epic.... and Maynard was a silloutte as usual.

I scored an event poster from the show signed by all 4 members of the band... now I just have to talk the girlfriend into letting me hang it.

However, you are correct... I'm sure the mods will fix this after they get their morning cup of joe... it's still 6 am seattle time...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

U show your lack of musical intelligence by comparing Tool to PJ and stating "Tool Sucks".....have u ever been to one of their live shows or taken the time to appreciate their complexity or creativeness...obviously not! As stated by the poster, a Tool performance of 12 songs does run 2 hrs and like i'm sure you've been told before, its not the quantity, its the quality.....on a musical level, Tool and PJ are on an equal playing fields for musicianship and Danny Carey is the best drummer in the game today, they are just different generes of music. Performance wise, these r THE 2 best live bands on the planet today.....unfortunately for Tool fans, the last couple of years the band has become a shell of its former self, choosing to tour with a recycled set-list with no new material and to only selected cities (how do u not include Detroit 2 years in a row?) Still, compared to what's out there on tour right now, i'd c them in a heartbeat.....good to c "Intolerance" and "The Patient" (great song live) added to the loop this go around.....

Tool’s lighting and effects make a PJ concert look like a high school production. And when I saw them two years ago the tickets were $50.

That said, I prefer PJ concert over Tool because the lighting and effects do force their hand to a standard setlist. But it is worth seeing them once per tour. And anyone who thinks Tool sucks is a tool.

That's not a bad setlist at all. Third Eye is indeed a sick tune. I recently listened to Tool's stuff, the first time in a long time and it reminded me of how incredible they are, especially live.

great set...tool is amazing. Saw them twice on the 10000 days tour. For anyone who's never seen them, this last tour the entire stage they were on was completely white and acted as a screen for all the images they shot down. there was barely any gear on the stage so the visuals came through so cool. They are EXTREMELY tight live and would rate them up there as some of the best musicians of the past 25 years.
  • was there an opening band? who?

how can a band be the 2nd best live act when they are using a recycled setlist. that doesn't make sense at all. bruce springsteen and phish and dmb and mmj are all better then tool live. tool are great at what they do but to say they are the 2nd best live act out today is just you being a fanboy of them. not hating or anything. :)

btw- outta those 4 bands i mentioned I've only seen the boss and eband

I think they know by now it's in the wrong forum. Quit being a douche. It's bad enough you are a Mets Fan. I guess the two go hand in hand. I thought that was just a stereotype. And how can you say Phish, MMJ, and DMB are better when you havent seen them live? You better know what the fuck your talking about before you open your mouth.

Tool is a great live band, but not one of the very very best. Has nothin to do with their unchanging setlist and everything to do with the lack of interest they've showed on recent tours.

The new setlist looks awesome. Hopefully the new album will have some more than one new idea on it.

Was lucky enough to see Tool live about 8 years ago (so I can't comment about the "lack of interest" in recent years). However, that one show was freaking incredible. To everyone who has posted about Danny's drumming - you're right. Has to be seen to be believed.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Incorrect. There was only one interlude on 10,000 Days.

I suppose technically they are songs but I was quite dissapointed with the last one :(
