    I think its pretty good.

I don't mean to be a dick, but is it really news that Gaslight Anthem has been playing this song?

The lyrics to the 59 sound are awesome.

Well, I wonder which song they're gonna play when we go.
I hope it's something quiet and minor and peaceful and slow.
When we float out into the ether, into the Everlasting Arms,
I hope we don't hear Marley's chains we forged in life.
'Cause the chains I been hearing now for most of my life.

Did you hear the '59 Sound coming through on Grandmama's radio?
Did you hear the rattling chains in the hospital walls?
Did you hear the old gospel choir when they came to carry you over?
Did you hear your favorite song one last time?

And I wonder were you scared when the metal hit the glass?
See, I was playing a show down the road
When your spirit left your body.
And they told me on the front lawn.
    I'm sorry I couldn't go,
But I still know the song and the words and her name and the reasons.
And I know 'cause we were kids and we used to hang.

    [Chorus]

Young boys, young girls, ain't supposed to die on a Saturday night.

    [Chorus]

I saw 'em last night. a 2.5 hour kick ass show. Fallon seems like a very personable guy....he talked about jersey shore, prince, salt lake city and stopped in the middle of one song to break up a fight up front  . I swear they must have done every song from all three albums along with house of the rising sun, refugee, sweet jane and walk on the wild side. no SOLAT tho  . (not that i didn't yell it out about 10 times)

hey jeagler....one of the openers was from philly....the menzingers.....they sucked ass! ;)

I just saw them Tuesday, great live show. They sounded way better live than I thought they would. The YouTube videos out there don't do them justice.

Oh we got SOLAT though, great cover. Non of the younger fans knew the song though, just us older folk in the "beer garden"

Love these guys. They're playing in Chicago for the second time in 2 months....thinking about trying to track down some last minute tickets.

I'll be there too. Only this is my first time seeing them live. I've heard nothing but great things about their shows so I'm pumped. Their new album is awesome.

Obviously they're popular so I'd better check them out on youtube. I must have been missing something when I saw them supporting PJ in June as I didn't know whether to have a sleep or go for a piss.

by the way, watch Brian Fallon slowly but surely show his Eddie Vedder influence. Check out his mannerisms:

Sounds good, man! great video, thanks for posting. I really dig all three of their albums, but I have to admit it'd be the tops if we heard their great cover of SOLAT. They've also covered the Screaming Trees' Dollar Bill before too. Well, I think it was just Fallon doing it acoustically, still bad ass nonetheless

  • Awesome, I'll hit you up man. I was gonna submit an FB request for SOLAT too. My friend who was supposed to go with me backed out, so I may be attending this one solo if I can't find someone else who wants to go. See you tomorrow!
