    What a ridiculous statement!

I love my league but I love world cup time. Australia's a sporting nation and loves it when we get on the world stage and compete. We sucked last night and all those comments are sour grapes and close minded AFL fools.

Bandwagon fans that come around every 4 yrs, I bet they don't even know what clubs the Socceroos play for.
If they cared the A-League would have higher attendances and be stronger than what it is now.

I'm quite aware of who the most of the team play. We can't compete with the salaries on offer overseas. I don't go to the A-League but I'll sit down up late on a Saturday night and watch our boys run around in the English Prems. There'a fairweather fans in every sport in Australia. There's so many sports to choose from you can't possibly keep up with them all!!!

Not questioning how much you love soccer, just commenting on the majority.
When it isn't WC time they bag soccer, call it wogball, boring, gay, but then love it for 4 weeks.

Could that not be said about a lot of sports, not the "ethnic" opion but the part time fans? The olympics come around once evey for years i mean, who gives a shit about track and field, and some of the winter ones, but olympics makes fans for a few weeks.

To the OP. I'm not sure what relevance Americans and Australians disliking football has. The rest of the world loves it. Consider yourselves outnumbered.

I think soccer's biggest detriment in the U.S. is that most of the best players work for oversea clubs and most Americans don't wan't to watch a lower tier product. I wouldn't really call it a dislike.

That and we have the NFL.

Just incase you're all wondering, I do love soccer and was brought up on it, just showing how sad it is that it not embraced in these countries.

Yeah pretty much, the majority of non ethnic Aussies only care for AFL or rugby.
