i just started watching it on demand. i am up to the season 2 finale.
good show. not very realistic at all. but it has a similar feel to dexter, which i love. there is always this sense that nancy's world came come tumbling down at any second in the show. dexter is like that as well in a way.
my question, and i am dumbfounded that this has not been addressed 2 seaons in, is how she got started dealing in the first place? i realize she's doing it for money after her husband died and she wants her kids and herself to maintain the same lifestyle they had before he died. but....she couldn't have gotten a job? i think they mentioned that she met her husband in college. so i am assuming she has a degree.
more importantly (and without any spoilers please) do they ever do a flashback or something about how she got started in this business? the show just starts off with her dealing at soccer games and stuff...but makes no mention of what lead her to that point.

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'

season 3 (the end of it) and the beginning of season 4 kinda loose their way but by the middle of 4 it all gets god again and season 5 is great especially the final episode

yeah thats the same guy
nice...i've watched the first two in about a week now. i am addicted.
it doesn't really matter. i just thought it would have been a logical place to start the show. plus it would be pretty interesting to see it unfold.
kevin nealon is fucking hillarious by the way.
I never had Showtime, so when I got Netflix I took that opportunity to watch Dexter, Californication and Weeds.
It's not nearly as good IMO as Dexter or Cali, but it's still pretty entertaining...and yeah...Kevin Nealon is great in it!
the thing that i don't like is that all of the characters, except maybe andy, have become more and more unlikeable as the season's have gone be too. especially nancy. initially she was someone doing what she could to get by so her kids could live the same life they were accustomed to. now she's ordering hits on people and just seems totally self absorbed....on top of everything--is an awful mother. she is tough to "root" for now.
i liked the twist at the end of the seaon 5 finale. i kept waiting and waiting for something to happen...and then shane walloped that bitch with a croquet mallet. that was some funny shit and it opens the door to them possibly fleeing once again next year.
i love watching shows like this ondemand with a new episode waiting for me every night...it just sucks when i get caught up and have to wait for the next season to start though!
Total MILF!!!
my wife & i just started watching it...HOLY SHIT!!!!! thank God for netflix on the Wii!!! this show is great!!! we're almost done with season 2 and we're going to finish the series (thus far) out soon!
great writing & crazy storylines.
love the weeds.

"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
agreed....you just knew shane had that in him since the first season. that kid is a little monster.
it was kind of funny how they all dealt with him too. i mean, what can they do? they can't really take him to therapy or something...
i hope the scene where the mexican bodyguard (cant remember his name) sort of acts like they are just going to ignore the whole killing of pillar thing is not really going to be the case. that would be a big cop out.
Fortunately I think they are smarter than that. Looks like a pretty funny season, and that's the important part. The interaction between Andy and Nancy is always top notch.

That's how I got into the show and Dexter. I watched The first three seasons of Weeds in a few weeks time. Dexter I watched the first season over a weekend. Both hooked instantly.

Haven't seen the most recent episode yet, but I'm loving it. It feels like things are starting to get interesting again for the Botwins/Newmans.

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.

See I thought it started pretty solid, than started to flop the last couple weeks.

i miss agrestic. the whole "off the grid traveler" thing got old after a couple episodes. after a while they were just drifting aimlessly. seemed like the writing was as well to me.
i think dryfuss' character is pretty funny. is he really that fat?
and though is incredibly stupid to swing back through your hometown while evading a mexican drug cartel and the fbi...i've enjoyed the story lines that have popped up.
looking forward to the last 2 episodes...
