holy GUATEMALA... volcano, hurricane, and GIANT SINK HOLE?!

So my boyfriend and I were talking about Guatemala and the volcano that erupted this week (which is about 30 miles from his dad's house)... I was googling the situation and came upon a few stories about the sinkhole:

    This reminds me of a book I once read (I forget the name) and in the story these huge holes appeared all over the earth.

    They were immensely deep and, to cut a long story short, these holes led directly to hell. It freaked me out a little bit looking at that picture, kind of reminded me of that story. :?

    This had happened in Guatemala in 2007, it really looks like something out of a sci-fi/horror movie. Poor people!

    To put it in perspective, if the Statue of Liberty was in it, you wouldn't see it :shock: :?
    How tall is the Statue of Liberty? The Statue is 305ft. 1in. from the ground to the tip of the flame. It is the equivalent height of a 22-story building. In 1886, it was the tallest structure in New York.
