Went kayaking on Sunday for the second time in my life. First time was a few years ago on July 4th weekend at our local state park. Wouldn't recommend going on a holiday, it was packed and there was no parking (had to park like a mile away).Second time was ok. Me and my one friend got there around 2. He has his own kayak and I just rented one. Anywho we get there around 2 and it starts to drizzle. Weather app says it should be gone in like 10-15 minutes. So we think no biggie and start kayaking. About 45 minutes later there's a thunderstorm. Thunder/lightning/some hail. So we took cover for like 45 minutes or so. So that was fun and exciting

Woah. Yes in water during lightning. Ahhh scary. Looks like a fun adventure. Always cool to float around.0

Used to go to the Florida keys (near marathon) every year for about 15 years in a row and always rented kayaks to fish the flats, inshore reefs and the mangroves. Light tackle spinning gear. Chum block hanging off the back and floating livewells full of shrimp. We used to have great action when the tides were moving, less so during slack tides. Great snook, snapper, pompano, and yellowtail fishing. Bonefish were much more elusive. We always ate well. It's been about 8 years and hope to make it back soon.0

Kayaking is fun! Don’t have one but I like to rent occasionally. Last summer I took the family to kayak in the ocean at La Jolla Cove in San Diego. Went along the cliff side, into one of the caves, and got to check out all the seals/sea lions. Pretty cool!0

There were some people (like kids in their 20's) that were diving off the boat dock ramp thing into the lake while it was storming outside. Not the smartest thing to do.

If anyone of you kayak off Pollepel Island in upstate New York, and you accidentally fall in, and you find a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, please DM me. It's mine. Thanks lol.
4 years ago, I fell in while trying to make a sharp turn to scare some friends. I lost the phone, which was maybe a week old at the time. And insurance wouldn't cover a new one, so I had to go back to my cracked Note 8.
That's the last time I was in a kayak. I do love it, though this suburb/city boy doesn't get the chance to do it often.May your days be long, til kingdom come.0
