Ahhhhh, my time of the year is here, time to go into back country and listen to PJ on my cd player which was born to meet my kayak.

Muskoka is awaiting me.....what is awaiting you?

nice...i am no expert kayaker by any stretch of the imagination. but my pops has a few kayaks that we bring out to a pretty big lake near us sometimes. i also like taking one of them out in the back bays down the shore. good times...good exercise too. i love it.

Down here in Florida I take the kayak out in the ocean & go fishing. I hooked a 6' tarpon this past week. An incredible site to see it dancing on its tail before it spit the hook out 8-) .

Haha -- that's awesome. I caught a 15 lb pike in a canoe and it pulled me all over the lake.

My canoe actually ran aground on a shallow reef near an island and I got out and landed the fish -- which I let go -- I can't filet a pike properly and I'm not sure that a big one would taste all that good anyway.

All the big fish I catch I release, I've caught a lot of big Walleye, but no pike over 10 lbs. Most fish that big the meat is no good in my opinion. Plus the big fish have good genetics so they will strengthen the herd.

I'm smoked a big pike and it was all right.

Never ate a walleye (pickerel) over 5 lbs before. 1.5 pounds is perfect for a pickerel. Biggest pike I caught was 44" (figure around 20 lbs as it was pretty thin). Never measured the length of the 15 lb'er but it was smaller than 44" for sure.

Walleye are great to eat, I agree with 1.5lbs are the best eating, biggest I have caught was 12 lbs(released). Oh yeah.

Caught some big catfish too around that size.

12 lbs is huge. I've been in the boat for a 10 lb'er once. Biggest I caught is a 7-lb'er.

Bay of Quinty my friend, me and my brother caught over 10 walleyes all over 10 pounds, including a double header with two 12 pounders. We were out in the boat in January about 3 years ago when we had that really mild winter.

I didn't realize that there were trophy walleye in Southern Ontario -- learn something new every day. Haven't got out yet this year.

The Payette River flooded big time this weekend. Roads and bridges taken out. Chaos everywhere! Cats and dogs getting along; it was fucking crazy. So, while the police and Forest Service were evacuating the back country, my wife and I sat tight and waited for everyone to leave and then drove in around the high water on roads half missing or undercut and about to go. We made our way into one of the deepest little outback primitive resorts in central Idaho with a huge natural hot spring and tons of wildlife and we had it to ourselves!

The owners were impressed with our gung-ho attitude, and happy to have any business at all.

We saw some scary big roaring water for sure! Awesome spectacle.

I just got back from a week long canoe trip to the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota last week and had a great time paddling around and fishing. I did OK with the walleye and small jaw, but the damn pike would not leave me alone.

This was my first extended trip into BWCA and I can't wait to get back up there later this summer. I love how everything interconnects up there.

Just got back from doing 45 km in 3 days! Fun shit went down some rapids hitting rocks which turned me sideways then went down the rest of the way backwards.

    Hoorah!

Went kayaking on Sunday for the second time in my life. First time was a few years ago on July 4th weekend at our local state park. Wouldn't recommend going on a holiday, it was packed and there was no parking (had to park like a mile away).

Second time was ok. Me and my one friend got there around 2. He has his own kayak and I just rented one. Anywho we get there around 2 and it starts to drizzle. Weather app says it should be gone in like 10-15 minutes. So we think no biggie and start kayaking. About 45 minutes later there's a thunderstorm. Thunder/lightning/some hail. So we took cover for like 45 minutes or so. So that was fun and exciting :lol:May be an image of kayak and body of water

Used to go to the Florida keys (near marathon) every year for about 15 years in a row and always rented kayaks to fish the flats, inshore reefs and the mangroves. Light tackle spinning gear. Chum block hanging off the back and floating livewells full of shrimp. We used to have great action when the tides were moving, less so during slack tides. Great snook, snapper, pompano, and yellowtail fishing. Bonefish were much more elusive. We always ate well. It's been about 8 years and hope to make it back soon.

Kayaking is fun! Don’t have one but I like to rent occasionally. Last summer I took the family to kayak in the ocean at La Jolla Cove in San Diego. Went along the cliff side, into one of the caves, and got to check out all the seals/sea lions. Pretty cool!

There were some people (like kids in their 20's) that were diving off the boat dock ramp thing into the lake while it was storming outside. Not the smartest thing to do.

If anyone of you kayak off Pollepel Island in upstate New York, and you accidentally fall in, and you find a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, please DM me. It's mine. Thanks lol.

4 years ago, I fell in while trying to make a sharp turn to scare some friends. I lost the phone, which was maybe a week old at the time. And insurance wouldn't cover a new one, so I had to go back to my cracked Note 8.

That's the last time I was in a kayak. I do love it, though this suburb/city boy doesn't get the chance to do it often.
