I think if its different versions (i.e Neil Young RIFTW from the album) then its cool.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
i saw starship (formarly jefferson starship)open for night ranger in 1985 at the spectrum in philly and they opend and closed their 40 min set with we built this city .WTF!!!!!
I just remembered, years ago I saw a guy called Pete Murray (Aussies and maybe some Brits would know him) anyway, he was kind of big here for a while, and he played the same song twice in the one concert, once acoustic, the other with his band.
Just me or kind of weird?
I think that's pretty cool actually. especially if you're a virgin to the song, want to hear it again, and then luckily get to hear it again later in the concert how awesome would that be.
U2 - played "If I don't go crazy..." different versions in the same set a few times this past 360 tour
I'm trying to remeer a neil young show I've seen...He usually plays an acoustic then plugs in. I believe Hey Hey my my was actually recorded and shot in the move rust never sleeps as both acoustic and electric.
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

So I went to the Gorillaz show last night with some friends. My one friend who saw them when they first toured in the US in 2002 for their first album said they played Clint Eastwood twice and 5/4 also twice!

Remember Whitesnake playing "Here I Go Again" twice in the same show back in the day.....kind of knew then they wouldn't make it as headliners when they didn't have enough material to fill the set (or keep people interested).... :? :?:

The Pixies have been playing Wave of Mutilation twice at their recent Doolittle shows. They play the album version then during the first encore they play the slower b-side version.
The Stooges played I Wanna Be Your Dog twice when I saw them in 2008.

i dont want to hear the same song twice cause i know itll be at the expense of a song i do want to hear.
its kinda like though youre ill, still feeling the need to come out and sing with the support band then having to cut your own set short because its become too much for you. not cool.

they were probably recording a live version of the song. i have seen bands do that at shows before. they wanted to make sure they got a good take, so they did it twice. kind of like getting a group picture taken. you get multiple takes and pick the one where everyone looks decent.
one time i saw Gravity Kills play "guilty" 3 times in one show. they were recording audio and video for an upcoming release. they are from here and it was their first time playing the big amphitheater here. it was kind of a big deal for them i guess...

The second time he played School's Out twice...my friends and I were very confused.
The third time, he played School's Out of course...and then Rob Zombie played it in his set... :?

Oooh I decoded this message. Perhaps the singer felt he was under pressure to perform with the support.

I wsa at a Coldplay concert a couple years ago and they played "Lost" twice. I think they were filming a music video for it, so that's why they did it.
can anyone clarify why PJ did miracles twice? was once a tag and the other full? one fuck up and one later on to correct it?
They opened with an acoustic set and started with the slow acoustic version (same as the Benaroya and Gorge shows). During the second encore the played only Ramones songs and did the normal (i.e. fast) version.
It surprised me at first but it makes sense in hindsight seeing that the concert proceeds were going to fight prostate cancer (tied to Johnny Ramone's fight for survival)
i accidentally did this once during one of my shows. i had the first 10-12 song written down as the main set + 2-3 others in case i had enough time. when i finished all of those songs, i got the "keep going" sign from the manager and accidentally repeated one of my songs. by the time i'd realized it, i was already halfway through the song, so i just finished it & said "sorry i played that song twice tonight...hope the 2nd time was better!"
