Playing the same song twice in the one concert.

I just remembered, years ago I saw a guy called Pete Murray (Aussies and maybe some Brits would know him) anyway, he was kind of big here for a while, and he played the same song twice in the one concert, once acoustic, the other with his band.

Just me or kind of weird?

Wow, that concert looks crazy. Was that audioslave like a stone?

I think I might need to download that show.

  • I think I'd be a bit pissed if a band played the same song twice in the same set. Especially if a band, such as Pearl Jam, have such a massive catalog of quality songs.
It's gonna be a glorious day...

To answer my previous question, yes it was audioslaves and it was all chris cornell singing.

I saw Terrorvision (guessing there may be a few around the world that won't have heard of them :P ) and they did Discotheque Wreck near the beginning of the main set ... then in the encore they played it in the style of a lounge band ... it was actually good fun
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

I have a buddy that serves beers at Fenway and he said Neil Diamond played Sweet Caroline like 12 times during his show at Fenway a few years back. He also said he sold more wine coolers that night than any night in the last 8 years.

One of the coolest bootlegs ever. Period.

Kudos to Neil for jumping in front of a bus like that, but if I was there...I'd understand. Maybe that's just cause I'm a huge Neil Young fan??

  • My old boss told me that he saw Survivor open up for someone back in '83 or something and that they actually played "Eye of the Tiger" twice to open and close the set. I mean full-on, the EXACT same version.

Every time I think of that premise it cracks me up.

I saw the Killers at Red Rocks... When they came out for the encore, Brandon Flowers said something about "doing something that will blow our minds," and then they proceeded to play 30 seconds of a song they already played. Then they left the stage for good. I don't know what the hell that was about, but it would have been better had they not come out for an "encore" at all. The show was pretty awesome (I realize I'll get some flack on this board for saying that, but I digress) and then to have them pull some lame-ass move like that kinda took away from the rest of the show.

  • When I saw The Killers in 2007 at Staples Center they played When You Were Young twice.

I read somewhere that a looong time ago some people would just leave after hearing Radiohead play Creep. So, what Radiohead would do is play it as soon as they came on and then again at the very end as a bonus to the people that stayed.

just last month i saw wilco in philly. they played outtasite (outta mind) and outta mind (outtasite), which are both the same song with a different arrangement. both of these songs, or this song, are (is) actually on the same album as well. (although it is a double album)......anyway, it was awesome, and i wouldn't have cared if they played it four times.
