Guess Boom is sick of people begging for the setlist. I'm sure Kille (spelling? the lighting tech) feels the same way

No, it's not. If you watch "Imagine in Cornice," during the scene where they're backstage trying to come up with the encore, you'll see a long, black haired man in a poncho writing things down, crossing things out, etc. He does all the writing. I believe he's a stage manager.
I actually had an experience with him. In Philly IV this past year, I was seated right behind the stage where he was working. I said hi to him to be friendly (he was working on writing the lyrics for "Pilate" down for Ed), and he gave a quick, sarcastic smile. Anyways, this guy, who had been walking around every row in the front of the arena for pics asked him for a pic and the man said he didn't have any. Then the guy asked for the piece of paper he was working on, and the guy said that he didnt' understand why everyone wanted setlists because they where his hand writing and not Ed's. The pic man asked if he was sure that Ed didn't write the lyrics, setlists, etc. and the guy FLIPPED OUT; he said something along the lines of 'You guys are so fucking greedy. The band plays for at least 2.5 hours a night, putting everything they have of themselves into a show, and they're going to play longer tonight, but you all want more. " I just laughed and he started giving me the business. I told him to take it easy and I understood where he was coming from...he was just trying to do his job. But you could tell a lot of things bothered him about the crazy, gimmie gimmie fans. Anyways, he and I got to talking for a moment: I told him what I did for a living (middle school English teacher and part-time professional stagehand), and we ended up shaking hands and that was it.
I kind of get where he was coming from. The guy who asked for the pic was being kind of pushy while the other man was trying to do his job (and as most of you know by the setlist that night...that guy had a lot of lyrics to throw together).

I'm hoping it was just a bad day because otherwise thats pretty weak. I mean... they sell limited edition posters because people want souvenirs and lineup for hours to get them. Of COURSE they'll want the setlist if they can get it - its really cool to have.
I dunno... I'm sure its annoying when people ask for it, but just ignore them and do what you need to do. Its not like they have to confront everyone who asks... just ignore it.

I think the setlist is funny and the guy is right. Just look at this board. People are always asking for more and more and more. I'm sure this guy gets hounded for things every night and not always in the most polite way.

I'm sure people are yelling to him for picks/setlists/whatever... but the reality is this happens at EVERY show for ANY band. People try to get anything they can thats left on the stage - its just the reality of the 'business' of the show.
Just seems unnecessary to yell at fans who are asking... just ignore them. Just my opinion - just seems like a jackass thing to do to yell at fans for 'wanting more' when they are paying $80 for a ticket, $35 for a shirt, $30 for a poster, etc... not to mention it takes him more time and energy to yell at fans than to just ignore them.
when i saw cat power, she ran off stage at the end to grab some setlists, licked em all and handed em out. hehe. so obviously she expects the fans to want to take home a setlist and made it happen.

oh what i wouldnt do for some of her spit..... :P
pretty sad that PJ fans are SO annoying that this had to happen... IMO, if its not something thrown to you by someone in the band (pic, drumstick, etc.) i dont know why you'd want it... never understood those vultures that stick around after the show yelling at techs and stagehands... real meaningful souvenir there

What you bring up is exactly what the setlist he wrote says: you pay for the show, not the setlist. You don't know what the fans were yelling at him either.

i used mine to create a clone..
i mean, what? you saw nothing!! NOTHING!!!
*strokes her chan-clone's hair* pretty kitty...
MAKE ME ONE! shes fuckin gorgeous! and that voice
It apparently is nobody's writing. When I saw the setlist (just saw it, didn't read it) sitting by the lighting board, I said, "oh, look, it's even in Ed's writing." To which someone there replied" Well, sort of. It's a special font they use."
I'll bet we could find it - it really amounts to someone typing out the set list before the show and passingg it around. Then rather than just doing the same thing off the internet, people beg for it.
I'm sure they do read this board, and I'd bet - at least based on Boom's setlist - that they think we are all crazy.

It's definitely not a font, unless that font randomises how the same letter looks as well.

That's a fair point, but it seems like that guy gives fans some of his mind whether they ask politely or rudely based on posts here.
Either way - I think its unnecessary but like you said I guess its hard to know what happened to prompt the fake setlist deal.

This is the one setlist I would love.
I would love it more if it said 'Fuck you, twats' and had that scratched over like a cancellation.
