send shivers down my spine
But honestly I'd have to say my "moment" just happened. I won the lottery the other night in Boston, was front row in front of Stone, and when the boys came out for Release, with the blue ambient lighting, it was the single-most surreal experience I think I've had.
The whole night was amazing. So yeah, that would be mine.
and i guess winning the lottery for newark was pretty kick ass too. got to hold eye contact with mike for a good 8 seconds

Seeing Pearl Jam play MSG
Winning the Lottery to my Hometown show, throwing a WHO hanky to Ed during YL, him catching it, getting a pick, coming down to the front row, putting it in my hand and shaking it. AND someone caught the whole thing in HD.
Seeing Temple of the Dog Reunite
Seeing my 30th show on my 30th Birthday
Damn i wana be you!!!

Watching my 11-year-old daughter's face light up when Johnny Guitar begins, then watching her melt when the next song was Amongst the Waves (her two fav PJ songs). Sharing that entire experience of getting the new album, listening to it together, talking about the songs, getting excited for the show -- and then having PJ play EIGHT of the new tracks for us in LA! Listening to her sing along with the songs and harassing me that I didn't know all the words, watching her roll her eyes at Eddie's potty mouth all night, sharing my poster curse (Dad, I'm NOT hanging that on my wall...) and the wonderful 10C fans all around us watching out for us! The whole freakin weekend, father/daughter road trip -- PJ, Universal Studios, shopping in Santa Monica -- is one of my Top 10 experiences IN LIFE!
Heck, the first notes of BH&R7's "Rock n Roll is Free If You Want It" -- the bass line starts up, she looks over at me all, "Dad, it's not THAT loud." And then the twin guitars and drums ... EXPLODE! No better intro to the rock-n-roll concert experience! And I quote, "WHOA!"
4/8/08 -- Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley, CA
Debatable "PJ" moment. Ed talking about how the entire band supported his solo work, how they were all represented on his stage, some of Matt's drumsticks, Jeff's carpet under his feet, discovering that his favorite acoustic guitar was actually owned by Stone, and then shocked that he had nothing of Mike's -- so he had something flown down that day from Seattle. And a tech wheels out a pushcart carrying ... MIKE!
Absolute mayhem ensues (AATWT/YL). But no, it doesn't, come close to the above!
getting in to that first matt cameron gig is pretty sweet.
I hadn't heard about Ed wheeling Mike out like that.
05/07/98 - ARO.space: Seattle, WA (first show with Matt Cameron) [75m]
support act: Shawn Smith
set: Interstellar Overdrive, Corduroy, Do The Evolution, Brain of J, Last Exit, Given to Fly, In Hiding, Off He Goes, MFC, jam/Habit, Wishlist, Faithfull, Hail Hail, Mankind, Leatherman (!), Leaving Here
enc: Last Kiss (cover)
notes: PJ makes their first full public appearance with Matt Cameron at this surprise show at the club formerly known as Moe's (site of the Mirror Ball release party and private Neil Jam show in 1995). The band is visibly nervous until 'Habit,' at which point they totally kick in, laughing amongst themselves, making jokes. 'MFC' and 'Habit' are total standouts, as well as Stone's tambourine playing during 'Leatherman' and Eddie's hilarious backing vocals during 'Mankind.' The band leaves the stage and then Matt, Jeff and Ed return, Ed tells us a little story, displaying a Michael Jordan bong and a single. He tells us he bought the single for 99 cents the day before and stayed up all night listening to, 'Last Kiss,' a 50s gothic romance that was re-released and popular during the early 70s, and then proceeds to serenade us with a wonderful rendition of that song. Amazing show!
(FYI: The opening jam is none other than a shortened version of Pink Floyd's 'Interstellar Overdrive'

The first time I ever saw them was back in 1994 at the one true Boston Garden. The houselights went down and this strange (at the time) purple light enveloped the stage. They launched into Release and I was blown away. Never before had I seen a rock band open a show with a slow, powerful song like that. It was simply amazing.
Then this past Monday night, as soon as Eddie said, “27 shows and we never played this one” we all went wild. I’ll never forget that moment of hearing Crown of Thorns start up for the first time in Boston.
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
NICE!!!!! +1 for Corwn Of Thorns!

Regal Theater, 1994--most amazing night ever.
First time seeing them in Dublin in 96. You could just see the outline of Pearl Jam with a purple background and they started into Release (my favourite opener ever). Hard to describe but you'd get a lump in your throat!!
Also getting to meet Ed, Stone and Boom after the Shepards bush gig last year.
Brief but amazing.
