yes, this is true. I'm not a boasting kind of person...but I feel the need to do so now :).

I haven't been able to see my girlfriend in quite sometime, since we were able to get together and see the Tampa show...and just last weekend she was here for my brothers wedding and brought me my long awaited birthday present...she managed to find, for $25!!, an original copy of both volumes I & II of the original Vitalogy, published 1919.

I have been trying to acquire this to my collection for a couple of years now...it was literally the best gift ever.

here is a picture of my two books :)
Cheers,

    cool....that's a collector's stuff for pj fans.

  • Wow, that's a lovely present :) Please tell me you will actually read it and not just keep it as an untouched collector's item. As a bit of a bibliophile it would physically hurt me if I knew it would just sit on a shelf looking 'cool' forever :D
  • I've wanted this for aaaaaaages! I'm uber jealous :p
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
  • That an awesome birthday gift! Your GF's great! :D

I wanted it before I was a PJ fan.

I would be excited too, I would love to have a first edition of that book (for obvious reasons) what's so wrong about posting that on here, who else than other PJ fans can understand being excited about a gift like that?

Some of you people need to chill

Hey, hey. Wasn't having a pop. Just being light hearted. I respect the fact that people want to understand the band's inspirations. That's why I said it's cool.
I mean I read Daniel Quinn's Ishmael after I heard it was an inspiration to Yield.

I bought the fence instead of the lamb... figured it would hold up better over time.

I was 16 when Yield came out and my one night with my friends, I unscrewed a Yield sign near one of their houses. I hope no one got in an accident on my part but i still have it and I'm 26. Kind of pissed later when I saw the Yield promos they were selling soon after but at least I can say I got the real thing.
