The Juggler said:I have been in one of the longest funks I've been in since I started playing a decade ago. Slicing everything. Hitting line drives to second base. So infuriating. Broke 80 for the first time a year and a half ago and it's been all down hill since then.
Kinda think I have gotten to the bottom of it though. Been watching a bunch of Hank Haney videos on getting rid of your slice. Seems to be helping....I somehow morphed into a much stronger grip and was also coming over the top. I think not playing much at all over the winter has definitely contributed to this.
Getting a lesson later on today with a new golf pro. Hopefully I get back on track soon. The instructor who basically taught me how to play passed away a few years ago. I would normally just check in with him for a tune up every now and then.
I've been golfing longer than you (maybe 15 years). It is infuriating to shoot a 78 and then a few months later struggle to break 90. Practicing on the course is good, but I need to hit the range and at least feel like I can get to a consistent swing.0 -

Over the top is my miss too. It's the baseball in me. So I have two key swing thoughts to combat that; get that left hip moving forward first. That helps me keep my right shoulder below my left one, and then on the irons, get the top of my left hand facing down as I accelerate into the foreswing. That really drives the iron into the turf, creating a stronger compression. It's very difficult to be OTT with your left hand down properly.0 -
Thanks guys. Totally agree on a lesson once or twice a year. That's what I was doing until he passed away. Maybe I'll get back into that groove with the new guy.www.myspace.com0

Scottie is now a father. Bet the retirement on him for the PGA. Perfect storyline.

Booked my 2025 Ireland golf trip the last few days. Leave on the 17th of June for 6 days of golf in Ireland and then see Pearl Jam in Dublin. If you guys have Ireland on your list let me know and I can get you all the info you need. This was my 6th time planning an Ireland trip myself (2 were canceled due to COVID). My recommendation is to start at least 14 months early if you can so you can easily get the tee times/ordering you want. You want to make sure you aren't spending too much time in the car or not having time to enjoy nice dinners or skipping breakfast.
I called Royal County Down and they only had one tee time left on the day I wanted and it was 13 months out.0 -

I gots Vegas PJ and Dead and Co on Friday. Just got my Dead tickets now. Tickets are dropping in price quickly.
For those that haven't been to the Sphere, highly recommended. It's a whole different experience, even if you are not a Dead head. I'm taking my son who just finished college, as his gift.0 -

Agree with @mrussel1 to check out the Sphere if you can regardless of liking the Dead.
The only other two times I've been to Vegas I stayed at The Flamingo due to a conference and then stayed on both trips at the Park MGM. I liked the Park. Easy walk to Aria and its restaurants.
Edit: Decided to fly out Thursday to see the first show. Changed hotel to Park MGM. Not terrible price considering a big city and weekend. I found I need to work out of town for the next three weeks so treating myself to one more night in Vegas.Post edited by bootlegger10 on0 -
