Shot 79 a couple of weeks ago after about a month off. Tied for me best round ever and only 2nd time I've broken 80. Got brought back down to earth the next week when I shot 91 at a much tougher course. Don't get to play as much as I used to or would like, but it's been good for me. I'm much more consistent now and been shooting low 80's pretty regularly

So I love the set up of this tournament. Staggered leaderboard for $15 million?! Hell yeah over the math that needed to be done in past years

Also, these assholes are playing for $15 million

Last place gets 400K!!  This is just silly money.  10M difference between 1st and 2nd place is crazy.  Should be fun to watch this weekend.

Well, going into the final round you have the two best players this year in the top 2 spots.

Wow, three players within two shots of winning $15M with 9 holes to go.  I might need to watch this.

It would be great to see Rory win.  What is great about sports is seeing the athletes overcome obstacles and disappointments.  Can Rory win on Sunday with the game's best player one behind and for the biggest prize x8 in golf?  Maybe he'll retire to live his best life.  Who knows.

I leave work to watch the back nine and now a four shot lead.  Bummer.  Wanted a closer finish.

Generally enjoyed the tournament but tough to get excited about the 2nd richest player in the game winning a cash grab. I was pulling for Xander

Agreed. I think this is where the PGA got it wrong. The tournament becomes more about winning the money than winning an actual event. That's not what viewers want to see.

Happy for Rory. Putting really improved this year.

Rory said he played 6 out of 7 weeks.  How are you going to get players to play those three playoff weeks in a row without throwing a lot of cash at them?   The sport has 4 majors a year, the players, 3 WGC's, Jack's tournament, Ryder Cup/Pres Cup/Olympics, etc.... While a cash grab, whether they are playing for the title or the money they are still playing hard.  We ended up with the best and most consistent players of the year battling on the back nine.  A rematch of Rory vs. Koepka with all of Rory's sunday woes in his head.  I think it played out great except that no one challenged Rory on the back nine.

Yeah they're professional golfers. They make an insane amount of money. The is new to people? I thought it was great this year.

They should continue to tweak the format a bit, though. If you win a major, I think that should automatically qualify you for the tour championship. Reed winning the Northern Trust counted more than Tiger winning the Masters? That doesn't seem right.

Yeah, I agree majors should get you into the tour championship (Tiger for sure would have taken the first week off).

I don't mind the Northern Trust mattering more than the Masters.  The last three tournaments are the playoffs.  Playoff games should mean more.

That would be okay to me if a major was an automatic qualifier...

Played golf for the first time in about a month.   Felt so good to be back out there.  Took a few holes to get comfortable and had plenty of 7's on the card but that is what match play is for so still a lot of fun.

But it's just tough to care about a meaningless tournament with a limited field where the only thing that matters is the money.  Hard for me to get excited about Rory winning $15 mil.  I would be significantly more excited if Rory won a tournament that would impact his career legacy.

If Chez or Kokrak won life changing money, that's another story and I'd be excited.

And as noted, I enjoyed the tournament.  Watched more of it than I have watched of any golf since the British.  When it ended it just felt unsatisfying.

    It is the best.

Assuming the back is in working order, hoping to play at least twice this weekend.

Took Thursday and Friday off to complete the ol' Five Day'er as any good American should...

Hit ‘me straight!  Sounds like a nice five day stretch.

My back was definitely tight the next day.  Getting old.  I thought being lazy for 10 years would help on wear and tear. Apparently not.
