^ I was thinking the same exact thing today. Ratings are going to be off the charts.
And Jon Rahm. How did I forget him.
All this and watch a friggen Mike Weir type wins.
If there’s shitty weather, maybe we see another mike Weir/ Zach Johnson type. If weather is good, it will continue to favor the bombers.
I think by referencing Weir he means "Guy I've never heard of/guy I don't care about" rather than "guy that isn't a long hitter."
Yeah, basically a guy that sucks. aka Mike Weir.
8 tour victories including a tour championship and a wgc event as well as said masters is nothing to sneeze at ... edit: would also add he made 5 consecutive presidents cup teams where he has an above .500 record which is more impressive considering the int'l team always gets whooped at these events.
looking to do a spring golf trip ... any good value resorts (2 or more courses) in the state? by value - just looking for good bang for the buck not necessarily cheapest ... also, what's the temperature there usually mid-may?

May is a fine time to golf in PA. Where are you looking to play? I know a lot of good courses on the eastern side of the state; Northeast, Poconos, and Philly area.
Yeah, are you specifically looking for a resort? If so, we typically have headed down to the Virginia/Maryland area for those. I am sure there are some in PA but not as familiar.
If you are okay with an area with a high density of good courses, I can give some advice about the Philly area. Basically if you are around the area, play Glen Mills.

I was going to throw out Glen Mills as a suggestion too.
Some others in that area that I like are Broad Run and Loch Nairn.
Some good Pocono-area courses are.....
-Jack Frost Golf Club -Mount Airy Casino and Resort -Skytop Lodge -Country Club of the Poconos

Have heard really good things about Skytop and Broad Run. Not sure how I haven't played Broad Run yet.
Also, Scotland Run in Jersey is a course I like a lot.

He was a good golfer and I had a feeling my Weir hate would get some reactions. He is about as vanilla a Master's winner we have had outside of ZJ and has taken up tons of sponsors exemptions over the past however many years since he has been bad (hurt too, I guess) . Think he is officially done now though, right?

Skytop is nice. Resort type of place where some holes are near condos and others go through the woods. Some cool elevated tee-offs where you can grip it and rip it. FAST as lightning greens too. Fastest of any Pennsylvania course I've played.
Broad Run is really nice, but it's also one of the hardest courses I've played.
Gilbersville Golf Club is a really nice 27-hole course in that area worth checking out as well.
Thanks guys! Plan would be to drive in late thursday night and play 36 on Friday and Saturday and 18 on Sunday. So, ideally the place would have at least 3 9's or 2 18's. We don't want to have to drive to different courses every day. I think the perfect location would be a far drive from the big cities (thus less bodies to have to wait on while on course). I'll look up all the suggetions!

He's playing some Euro events and web.com events to get ready for seniors tour.

Can ya tell me where you go in VA/MD?
Not fancy by any stretch of the imagination but have had an absolute blast here. Will likely be a hike for you though.
Chesapeake Bay (Hyatt): Much nicer (and more expensive). Only one course, I believe. Did this one as a stop on my way down to the Outer Banks.
If you drive by, Renditions is a pretty cool course that has been talked about a bit in here i think. 18 holes that are replicas of major holes.
Also, an oldie but goodie from my old stomping grounds. Turning Stone may be what you are looking for. Upstate New York, 3 nice courses, casino and convenience.
Haven't been but along a similar lines, I know people who have done Rocky Gap in Maryland and liked it. Not sure how many courses they have or anything.

I think I have made my position quite clear, but I am extremely excited for the Masters. Got my baby girl a green jacket and all, lol. Pimento cheese sandwiches Sunday for sure. Cannot wait.

Sounds like the golf version to my version of Cubs opening day. Steamed Chicago style hot dogs with all the fixins, Cubs kerchief for my fur baby, a Cubs hat and shirt for me.
I always enjoy the Masters as well. Tiger being in the hunt would make ratings explode and golf wants it...TV wants it and I want it. Being up north, I think a lot more people enjoy it because we get to see so much fresh cut green grass and all the plant life. It reminds us that the beauty of spring/summer are well on their way.

The Masters truly is one of a kind. I work there during the tournament when my schedule allows it. It's even more beautiful in person and never ceases to amaze. Augusta National is heaven on earth in a golfers world.
Being an employee at the Masters is very eye opening. Ive been fortunate enough to see a lot of the areas that the public never gets to see. The behind the scenes type of stuff is just as impressive. I might type up some my experiences later on and share them on here.

Team Rory/JT on the heckling and fan behavior. Tournaments sound like they're all turning into the waste management.
I go to golf tournaments and I drink, probably too much. Know what I don't do? Act like a jerkoff to people who are literally working.
Hell yeah. I love going to tournaments and having a few whiskeys and just enjoying the amazing skill these guys have while quietly riding a nice buzz. And of course cheer at the appropriate times.

Yes, indeed. Even a time and place to get a quick chat or acknowledgement from a player.

Like this course. Feel like I burn out on match play by the weekend, especially Sunday when it's so slow.

Agreed. It seems to be getting worse and worse every year. How big of an asshole do you have to be to yell out "it's in the hole" after every shot?!?
