  • Crazy that yesterday was Rory's first win in almost a year and a half....maybe he finally figured out what was wrong with his putting.

We'll see. Looking forward to it. Those swings he had at Congressional were pathetic, but he seems to have taken it slowly. Love that he is playing the fall tournaments. Good for him. I am obviously a fan, but golf is more fun when he's involved.

I agree with you Cliffy. I'd love to see him win another major. It just doesn't seem like he can throw 36 holes together, let alone 72

If he comes back and does well then hats off to him. If he comes back and struggles and we see every single one of his shots over the guys in contention then that sucks. Golf is not more fun watching somebody in 57th place over guys in 3rd or 4th place.

I do agree, and you are going to see a lot of him, especially in the beginning. That said, it's not like they show much as it is, especially CBS. Justin Thomas has to have a 342432 stroke lead to get a shot on TV.

    I AM TIGER WOODS.

Thought it was funny that he announced his comeback on the same day I was debating quitting my round halfway through due to... lower back pain.

(I battled through to the end...and will probably be sore for the next month now. Fuck.)

    Agreed.

Combo of him simply sticking around on the weekend with the Speiths, Rory's, Days etc just makes golf way more fun to watch...Hopefully he can exceed expectations.

So Day gets $10 million a year to wear Nike gear and he still gets to play his TM clubs. I'd say that worked out okay for him...

nike getting out of golf clubs ... wonder what tiger will play ...

interesting that bubba has been left off the RC team ... gotta be a kick to the junk when it's pretty much implied he is a shitty teammate ...

Yeah, it had been assumed Day was going to Nike but I wasn't sure what was going to happen when they made that announcement. This has to be best case scenario for him. Can't believe Nike is dropping that kind of money on just apparel deals. Then again, look at their basketball deals. Wonder if he goes back to Titlest?

Yeah, that's really all it is, along with his terrible RC record.

haha ... man, you'd pay to watch him eat hot dogs wouldn't ya!?? ...

dude's already involved with the team - no need to add him out of sentimentality ... golf has survived quite nice the last couple of years ... we don't need to see him suffer the yips ...

    hahahahah, probably.

I know. It doesn't make a ton of sense and would be incredibly unfair to any number of players, but reading that got me all warm inside, haha. I watch as much golf as anyone and have enjoyed the shit out of the last couple years. That said, I want the big cat back.
  • Can't wait for Tiger to come back but no way can it be for the Ryder Cup. The US has enough trouble winning when they actually pick the top guys....can't wait for it to get started in a couple weeks.

Ha, no way, but the article makes some decent points....

I am so pumped for it and now I realized I have a flight to your hood that Sunday...wwwwwwhhhhhaaaaaaat the hell...luckily I land early enough (around 1, I think) that I should have time to catch it, assuming it isn't over early Sunday...

So who's gonna get the last spot? You think the tour championship matters?

I am gonna go with Berger. Would like to see Thomas on the team but he hasn't earned it this year.

I hope not. I think Bubba would be on it already if he was going to get picked. Love has hinted that he's not taking Bubba regardless, but Bubba is at Hazeltine with some of the guys this weekend.

i dunno ... it's not like bubba's record in the RC is bad ... if there was someone red hot that warrants a pick - it might be different but there really isn't ... plus, him at hazeltine this weekend has to account for something ...

Thought you said he was such a bad teammate and nobody likes him?.....weird that he's there with the other guys.

    I hope it's Bubba

I mean, isn't it pretty much common knowledge that he is one of the less liked players on tour? I don't think they keep it much of a secret
