I think some people are taking this a bit too seriously, Ian's always been a bit stuck up. Heck, I think it's a sign of respect that when he mentions American singers that could have fronted the Doors, the first name that he came up with is Ed.

I saw the Cult about 2 years ago here at the Fillmore, they kicked some serious ass. They are still relavent. As popular as PJ? Hell no ... but still a fantastic band.

saw him twice with the doors and twice with the cult; actually got to meet him and billy after the show in clevland and they were real nice. My buddy was going to have kidney surgery a coule days later and ian was real cool and nice about shit; Not sure where all the hostility is coming from in that interview but i'm sure some of it is aimed at maybe musicians or fans that thought the doors touring was too gimmicky. As far as my understanding goes, densmore said he would've toured if they could've got vedder to do it but eddie said no to robbie and ray..either way the cult has a pretty awesome catalougue and carreer and ian needs to remember that and keep it that way.

What he said. Let's not forget Astbury has always been just a bit arrogant. That's his problem if he makes it sound like it was an inconvenience to front the band that his biggest influence did years before.
