    i still can not believe this gushing oil well is not capped off yet.
    also, i just heard on the radio, that if the mud packing and filling the pipe with concrete does not work, that is when they plan on calling in other oil companies for help/advice.

    why hasn't every oil company on the face of the planet been asked to help cap this thing and why haven't other oil companies stepped up to help without being asked to do so?

    the U.S. Navy should get off their fat asses and start pulling some oil barriers around.

    i say revoke their business license. if one of us caused car accidents killing a dozen or so people every few years we'd have our drivers licenses taken away.

    if this rig was in norway they would be required to have an acoustical trigger, which costs $500,000 which may have stopped the leak before it started....it's estimated BP makes that much in 8 minutes....it's so shameful what is happening. :(

    no but that's not the only thing that can be done, people need to stop shoving off all the burden on politicians most people think are corrupt and aren't doing their jobs. they need to start seeing past partisan politics and stop giving passes to their side and start demanding more. instead we have 1 side saying it's wrong and the other saying their guy knows what he's doing and just give it time and that just flip flops back and forth while no real positive ground is being made but instead more and more being given away.

    the 'liberals' complained about bush's deregulations and other shenanigans while 'conservatives' swore he knew what he was doing, 'it just takes time'. now 'conservatives' are complaining about things obama is doing (and a lot of made up stuff he isn't) while the 'liberals' give him a free pass and say 'it just takes time'.

    people become so polarized and so blindly loyal to their team they shut out all criticism and write it off as some whacko talk or sour grapes

    and what is happening in the meantime while we wait for obama to start having a pair of balls and not just giving pretty speeches and singing bills?

    i'm not saying don't do anything, don't try to save the birds, i'm saying scrubbing a few birds clean isn't enough. accountability is what is needed, we don't have time to keep waiting around hoping they stick to their word when they know most of their base will be happy with the few bones they throw them and not worry that the majority of their promises were just empty talk

    your site only mentions oil, it has NOTHING about the chemical dispersants BP has been using which break down the oil into small droplets encased in this oily, sticky film which drops down below the surface so you can't see it as easily but can still be absorbed INTO fish, amphibians, birds....sorry but some dove aint gonna scrub that gunk out of their insides

    and i never said it was a joke, i said that isn't going to really solve the problem nor should you just kill them rather than try to save them; i said a lot still die after being cleaned (because of exposure to the oil and other chemicals.)

    people get bad headaches just being near this spill, imagine not only having it all over your body but absorbed into you or passing through your gills or mouth

    what's going to happen when fish with this crap end up on our dinner tables? or when these droplets get carried away by the currents and spread to other parts of the world or into hurricanes and rain? but then we already eat fish that ate a lot of plastic and trash and don't seem to mind very much or fish farm raised in china which have pretty low standards and i think the most toxic waterways in the world

    To help with the global catastrophe that is the Gulf of Mexico's oil cataclysm, the Indianapolis 500 will be burning fuel at a high rate as racecar drivers maneuver themselves around in a high speed circular fashion with the goal of being faster than their fellow rivals. Nice work America. Oddly enough, I just realized the race took place yesterday and that some Scotsman took the checkered flag. Shows what I know.

    not to mention most of the pipes on the alaska pipeline are 40 years old and corroding and already have had leaks, just a week or 2 ago there was a spill at the pipeline with something like 100 million barrels

    and look at all the disasters in nigeria from shell, they even have people murdered there, a leader of a village that was being destroyed by all the spills and drilling and a few other were lynched to make a point: shut the fuck up
