Stop bitchin'! Are your 10C seats slowly getting worse?

-Tours are getting smaller=less seats
-Fans are older and can afford to travel to shows
-PJ fans are no longer restricted to seeing shows in their country or region( ex. Europe, N.A.)...So there are fans from many countries traveling around to see shows.

Just thank the 10C for their effforts and please stop the negativity.

I do not mind sitting a few more rows back if it means more TC members get in the building.
That is how that works. Less people shut out means you sit further back. So in this situation the
    TC cannot win.

In Europe 10c tickets means standing down the front everytime - pretty cool

why are American concerts always all seated affairs?

Actually the last 10 of 11 U2 shows I have been to in the US, I have been in GA. Also the second Pearl Jam show I went to (Rock for Choice in Pensacola) had a GA floor as well.

After I see Pearl Jam in Hartford and Boston during the next few days I will have seen the band 25 times. Of those 25 shows the only time i wasnt on the fanclub was my very first show back in 1998. I went to the hartford show during the Yield Tour with my dad and two friends. Since then I have been a part of the 10 club my seats have been all over the place from 2000 until 2004 I had only seen Pearl Jam perform at ampithearthes. I believe all the shows where at the tweeter center in Mansfield, MA and whatever the Dodge Music Center was called at the time. My seats varied quite a bit if i remember correctly i think the first 2 opportunities I had to buy tickets you could get 2 tickets to one show after that you had to go through ticketmaster or whatever other agency you could get the tickets through. I remember in 2000 i was about 40 rows back i thought it was great the closest i had every been to a show PERIOD. then there were some lawn seats and soem very far back pavilion seats. In 2003 I got the worst Fanclub seats to date i was literally 5 rows from the rear of the paviloion but honeslty I didnt care because to me its not about being up close to the stage although that doesn make for a better memory. For me the less you can see the stage the more you listen to the music. Starting in 2004 Pearl Jam started playing more shows inside gockey and basketball arenas and i noticed my fan club tickets go from 40 rows back at my first show to about 80 rows back at my second show. there was a mess up with the tickets somehow but who cares I got into they show. ONce they started playing the arenas i would pretty much always be in the second section on the floor about 5 rows back pretty much everytime fine spot for me unless there was someone taller infront of me which in that case it would suck.

Best case scenario for me was when me and 3 friends took a ride up to the pearl jam show in Halifax. 2 of my friends. Paid 400 dollars to sit 2 rows from the back of the arena and I had tickets in the 3rd row inbetween mike and eddie. That was an awesome show. At that point i realized why everyone wants to be up front. PLus the setlist was one fo my favorites. sinces that show i have been back and forth between arenas and ampithearthers. if my fan club seats are in an arena i am pretty much always 20-25 rows back in an ampitheathre i al usually between 15-18. If anything my seats get better with evry new show I attend they dont get worse. For everyone who complains jeck man just deal with it alot of fan clubs basically make you pay twice as much or even as much as 5 times as mmuch for nothing. and even at that point you arent gauranteed tickets. I wanted to see the Red hot chili peppers in Boston so bad I got on their fan club to get seats at their boston garedn show after Stadium arcadium cam out. needless to say ticketmaster fucked up and sent the pass word out to the whoel world and i could even get 2 tickets together. a week later tickets went onsale for the RHCP show in albany i went on at 10 am and ended up wit 5th row bam jusy like that couldnt believe it. anyways sorry for the ramblings but there are wy to many people on this board who bitch and bitch about getting shitty fucking seats who gives a fuck where you sit if you are i nthe arena you hear the same music as the guy next to you as the guy 3 levels up in the batroom to the guy 15 sections over smoking that big fatty to the girl behind the stage over there no to your left. i go to the shows for the music not to say i got to sit in row 1 or 3 or i got a back stage pass. man if ebryone would just quit their nitchin about where they are sitting we would have half as many usuless threads on this message board and everyone wouldnt seem so miserable. SOrry for my constant ramblings about the same this this whole reply basically but judt go for the msuci if you get a good seat great I am happy for your and the next guy but now a dys if the show is in an arena there is no bad seat. but anyways fuck it just go to the show grab a beer smoke a joint joint bumo aline pick your posion just don't do it infront of any kids and do it in moderation and you will forget about your so called shitty fan club seats. AT LEAST PEARL JAM IS ONE OF THE FEW BANDS THAT HOOKUP THEIR FANS. if you dont like my thread I dont care just like i dont care about your shitty 10cseat that you have to talk about in every other gooddanm thread. Peace out people and sorry for my spellin and grammar those were 2 things i was never that good at in school.

    the who tragedy in 79

I think I'd heard of that years back so yeah. Understandable

hey in light of that I don't think anyone should bitch about tickets - just to be in the venue safely is what matters - enjoy the shows everyone!

Fair enough, but that was a long time ago and was due to a succession of errors from various parties. Things have changed a lot since then and, though accidents can (and will) still happen where there is a huge crowd, GA is a lot safer.

No real problems here in GA venues, why should it be different in the US?

Yeah, that's bs. Sometimes people have knowledge of something and just jump at the opportunity to apply it to something that is totally irrelevant. My first gig was Soundgarden in 1997 (sorry, actually November 1996)... It was in an arena and I was front row in the GA floor. It was an amazing time and there were mosh pits and people going crazy but everyone was respectful of everyone else. Anyone in the mosh, wanted to be there. If they didn't the were free to enjoy the show rockin out with everyone else on the floor.

There's no kind of nationwide ban on GA floors at venues in the US. And I'm pretty sure PJ has played its fair share of GA venues throughout the 90s. Why they no longer do is anyone's guess. They could certainly have the floor be GA at any arena if they wanted to.

Oh and to clarify, I lived in the US until 2003... that Soundgarden gig was where I saw PJ play one year later as a seated gig.

Look - I started the thread and made it a POINT to say I wasn't complaining. I like the Ten Club and have enjoyed my seats over the years. If I didn't, I would just stop re-newing.

That being said, I've had the expectation that over the years I would get at least SLIGHTLY better seats. I mean, even if people ahead aren't voluntarily giving up their numbers, some of them have to be letting them slip, or their circumstances change, or whatever.

I started the thread because I was curious as to why mine seem to be getting slightly worse. People responded with reasons that seem plausible...and that's what I wanted.

I'm not really much of a complainer. I'll participate with my money when I deem it worthy and will stop participating with my money when I don't. As of these last two shows, it's getting closer to the point where I won't find it worthwhile to stay in the club for the tickets. It's not past that point yet, though.

I had this conversation with someone in Cleveland, the guy was pissed because his # was 200,xxx and he was sitting by people who had #'s in the 350,xxx in KC or StL, I explained to him that it goes by seniority and that more than likely a lot of members didn't order for those shows.

It's pretty easy when look at it this way, for KC and StL there was no way that as many members requested tix for these show as MSG, Mansfield and Hartford, it goes by seniority and there's no way every member requested tickets. So there is a good chance that say member number 175,xxx requested tix and then the next closes member number to request tickets was 225,xxx.

I went to Columbus, Indy and Clvd and my seats went from really good, good and then great, I have no complaints, in 2008 I went to MSG, Hartford and Mansfield, but this time I chose not to try and go to those venues because I didn't want to have to try and get tickets for those places because I knew it would be hard.

I got 10 Club tickets to Columbus, Indy and Clvd with ease and all of them in 5 minutes or less, so I think from now on I am going to try and see them in places like that if they continue to play them and try every once and a while to go to the bigger shows on the east coast.

But if your paying for a product and you ask for steak and you get pork. It is wrong to complain? The whole theory that people don't have the write to complain is complete utter bullshit and goes against the one thing the band had preached forever, free speech.
