My wife taught our parakeet (the one in my avatar) to sing the opening line of that.
He seems to have forgotten it over time sadly.

I have heard Wash live before but I'd love to hear it again. I also hope they break out Release and Of The Girl again this tour.

Honestly Undone is one of maybe two Pearl Jam songs that I didn't love live.

I'm just being realistic with my song request. It's the most probable song that I haven't heard that I could hear, since they soundchecked it.

They have already played both this tour.

So, I gotta ask, when and where was this first show of yours?

It was 1992 and they used to open with it a lot. sigh.

The sets were very short though.

I think you all like the sets more now. :D

    x

Agreed - I love Wash, but I'd MUCH rather have a 25-song set that doesn't open with Wash than a 13-song set that does (unless I got to personally pick the 13 songs :D )
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Wash is the most-played song I still have yet to see live...

PLEASE open with it in Bristow!

DC is a filthy city, for sure.

Seems like i just lost my chance to see Wash at MSG! sonsabitches in Cleveland! Do you think they will repeat Wash. Off the Girl, Release or Oceans at MSG?

I'd personally Prefer 1) Oceans 2) Sometimes 3) Release. I'm the "Wash" Magnet, so follow me to MSG 2 and you will most likely hear it. I've been at 6 of the last 9 playings of Wash. If they would play "undone" at MSG 2, it would totally make up for opening with "wash"! :D

I so hope you are the Wash Magnet, I really need to hear this at one of the MSG shows.

The openers I want in order:

    1. Wash
    2. Release
    3. Hard to Imagine

Thats what I was thinking for cleveland but then ed came out and didn't put on a gutair, me and my uncle always make a big deal out of the opener and his guess was once, I even said that I hope they play wash and if I could pick one song for them to open with it would be it, he said that I would get dirty frank before wash (which would have only been slightly better but he was just being sarcastic, so I showed him huh?) It was by far the best moment of any show I've been to (only 2). I kinda hope some of you guys get it but I think that might take away of the specialness of the cleveland show, MSG already has it's share of amazing shows.

Ok, I've just checked; it's been 14 years since they last played Wash in Europe. Surely that has to change this year?! And maybe do it at Hyde Park?!

(and 18 years since London, UK heard it....we love the song too y'know!)

actually I am a Immortality and Leash magnet somehow, been to two shows, seen em both twice, crazy I know, the two shows were also the last 2 times in a row that they played both songs.

I knew they didn't play this one often, but I did think it had been played more than 8 times over the past 14 years before Cleveland. Since I was at the Cleveland show, I guess I consider myself pretty damn lucky then.

I also consider myself lucky for getting to see Oceans in Columbus, since over the past few tours, it seems like that song rarely gets played in places that aren't near an ocean.
words seem so out of place.

    8.21.00 Columbus | 6.24.03 Columbus | 7.9.03 NYC | 10.2.04 Toledo | 9.11.05 Kitchener | 5.20.06 Cleveland | 8.5.07 Chicago | 5.6.10 Columbus | 5.7.10 Noblesville | 5.9.10 Cleveland | 9.3.11 East Troy | 9.4.11 East Troy | 7.19.13 Chicago | 10.11.13 Pittsburgh | 10.1.14 Cincinnati | 4.8.16 Ft. Lauderdale | 4.9.16 Miami | 8.8.18 Seattle | 8.10.18 Seattle | 9.26.21 Dana Point | 10.1.21 Dana Point | 10.2.21 Dana Point | 9.16.22 Nashville | 9.17.22 Louisville | 9.18.22 St. Louis | 9.2.23 St. Paul | 9.15.23 Ft. Worth | 6.22.24 Dublin | 8.26.24 Noblesville
    6.26.11 Detroit (EdVed) | 9.23.17 Louisville (EdVed) | 9.25.21 Dana Point (EdVed) | 10.01.22 Dana Point (EdVed) | 2.6.22 Newark (EdVed)
  • I thought Wash would have been prefect for the Indy show with the weather, I was actually calling that Oceans or Release. I got Release which is always great but I missed Wash by one night dammit. Now my Pearl Jamming is over for this tour, I can't wait for the next one.

I would like to see it in rotation more, it's a pretty powerful song.
    1998 - St. Louis
    2000 - St. Louis
2003 - West Palm Beach, St. Louis, Champaign, Bonner Springs, and East Troy
2004 - St. Louis, Asheville, and Kissimmee
2005 - Kitchener and London, Ontario
2006 - Chicago Night 1, Cincinnati, and St. Paul Night 1

Wash has been played 74 times total, and only 9 times since 1996. Oceans has been played less in total (68 times), but more times since 1996, a total of 17 times. It's hard to imagine that It took me 40 shows to hear Oceans, but in the same time, I have heard Wash 6 times.
