Rumour has it Ed stayed at Mellencamp's place in Bloomington.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are just joking, if not this attitude is what gives fans a bad name. I think I may have sent a round over to him and his lady with a great big thank you, you rule! But not gone and bothered him ever.

So, what you're saying.....if the CEO of your company sees you out at a bar with your buddies on a Saturday night (assuming you work a regular M-F, 9-5 type of stint)....and just goes over to you, interrupts you while you are out on the weekend, and hands you a stack of papers and says "Get this done by Monday"....you'd be perfectly fine with that? After all, he does pay your salary.

I had a similar situation in Glenelg, Adelaide. We ordered inside and the waiter gave us a table number for outside. I sat down at the outside cafe table without realising Stone was sitting right next to us at the neighbouring cafe, the chairs were almost touching, anyway he was with the bands Manager Smitty (bloke in TV in Backspacer cover) and the bearded fella that's the cyclops in Backspacer cover holding the TV... there was also a woman present, no idea whom it was. So anyway I left them all alone, I like the music. Eddie said that night that they'd spent the whole day at the beach which was true. I actually wanted to thank Smitty for sorting a friend and myself out in Hawaii at a bad time :), but I'm sure I couldn't have pulled all the right words together... They were also so close that I wasn't sure my mate and I could even talk about the gig without them hearing haha. I did hear Stone mention the song You Are... but they didn't play that on the night...

Anyway on the whole "they owe the fans"... that's a load of crapola my friend. Being famous shouldn't rid you of your privacy.

I also saw Stone and the other guys go back to their hotel too after we'd left the cafe, I left them alone then too... I must lack the stalker gene. I even had my friend egging me on to go to the table, but that isn't what i'm about. Having been a fan for who knows how long (maybe 17 years), I'm guessing i'm more about the music than the "Eddie is my friend" fantasy haha

I'm pretty sure I saw him getting on a Green Line trolley this morning at Government Center in Boston, carrying an extra large Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Would Stone be wearing a tie?

You didn't run up on stage and ask him for his autograph and to pose for a photo with you? Wasted opportunity, man...
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Know1, you are a bigger man than me :) I wouldn't have bothered him while we was eating either....but I probably would've gotten my food "to go" and sat outside the restaurant and waited for him to come out....just to thank him for all the great music :) I don't ever imagine myself getting a chance to meet anyone from the band, so I don't think I could let it pass by if the opportunity arose.
I just could not let that opportunity pass.I would eat fast and wait outside or wait till he went outside if I was not done eating.I would not bother him while he was eating. That's not cool. :geek:

Kudos for leaving him alone during dinner. I had the opportunity to meet Stone once, early in the 2000s(01 or 02 I think?) after a Brad show in Detroit. The venue had a bar, so it was easy to stay inside after the show and drink while waiting to catch the guys walking out the front door. Anyways, Stone was the last person out, but he stopped to talk to the 5 or so PJ fanatics that waited. Completely worth the wait, as he signed everything we had and started asking us about our fav songs, shows, etc--why we liked the band. I've never been more impressed by someone. He wasn't in a rush, and he genuinely seemed happy to meet us and get our feedback and such. Just goes to show if you meet someone under the right circumstances, good things tend to happen!
