My wife and I will be there. Home town show for me, live in Centreville, work about a mile away from the venue. Grew up not too far away. Can't wait!

i'm bringing a big sweatshirt. for some reason, it gets cold at nissan aka jiffy lube. must be that country air :)
plus it's been chilly here lately.

i would wear like a tank or cami for earlier when it's hot out and bring a sweat shirt.

Thurs night looked fine on weather.com this am. Something change?!? A little rain would be NBD for most of us.

I'm working in Herdon that day but plan to leave around 3:30, get some ice for the cooler, and head to JLL to start knocking them back before the show! :) Taking a buddy who got hooked when i brought him to verizon center in 08.

Coming from Fairfax VA w/ (soon to be) GF if the night goes well :) It's also her 1st PJ show, she's a fan, but not a 10Clubber like most of us (147xxx here), so i'm not sure she knows what a HUGE deal this is that I invited her 8-) I might need to throw her some bootlegs to get her 'in the mood'...haha Or maybe I'll just start her off w/ No Code, that's a safe bet.

It would be awesome if all of us from this thread could tailgate together-- but parking is such a clusterf**k..Any ideas??!!

DC to Hartford not so sure. Have only driven from DC to NYC, but never from DC past NYC.

It's not only the 95 traffic, it's entering the venue... even if you arrive to the parking lot on time.

Yeah, I'm gonna be heading there early. Last show in the rain was 3.5 hours trying to get into the parking lot, and sat in a line of cars from 6:30pm and couldn't park or get into venue until 10pm.

I'm leaving at 3 am, which should put me at the venue by 3 pm, even if there's heavy traffic around new york.

Been to a good many shows at this venue and I can't remember traffic ever being as bad as has been reported in this thread. Sure, there's def a bit, but aside from the radiohead debacle, I can't recall ever having much difficulty. Went to 311 unity tour show (sold-out) last year with some friends and we got there 2 hours before they took the stage....no problems. breezed right in and there were TONS of people already tailgating. getting out sucked a bit but you have to know that it's going to be a bitch at every venue.
  • I just looked on ticketmaster and I could get two tickets in section 101 row R right now. I have a feeling that my ten club seats are going to be worse than those

i just called the venue again to check. the lady on the phone told me that it's 4pm opening for "regular folks" but 10C members should just print out their confirmation emails and they'll be let in at 3pm.
here's hoping the weather cooperates now.

Granted, this is from a 2007 Radiohead show I went to in Bristow, and there was heavy rain... but this is from an ipetition I created to ask Radiohead to come back to play an accessible venue in the DC area. I'm selecting a few quotes out of 500 signatures, which describe the traffic that event - again it was raining harder than what they're expecting this Thursday... but with PJ having traffic problems there in 2003 on a sunny day, I am a bit concerned.

"I didn't even get into the parking lot for the concert, after sitting in traffic for over 4 hours, 3 of which was off the highway and waiting to get into the pavilion. This is ridiculous."

"What would normally take about a 40 min drive from Arlington, VA took me over 3 hours to get to the venue due to the weather and traffic. I only caught the last 2 songs. I was very disappointed that Nissan Pavilion was unable to efficiently accommodate the large number of attendees for this show. Please come back to DC to play at the Verizon Center."

"At the exit an hour before Radiohead came on and never made it to the concert. I am absolutely disheartened I missed this concert. I can't believe what happened."

"Nissan Pavilion is NOT ECO-FRIENDLY! There is no way to see the concert without driving. That being said, we sat it our car for 4 hours, to go ONE mile, because of road closures due to flooding, construction traffic and poor, poor concert management planning. If your venue says "rain or shine", then you should make preparations to be able to handle the situation. 4 hours for one mile is beyond resonable."

"I arrived to the show traffic at 7:30 pm (within miles of the gate) after driving 5 hours to see the show. We then sat in bumpe to bumper traffic for the next 3 hours. When we arrived at the gate at 10:30, the police told us to turn around and go home. So, we spent 14 hours in the car total, $75 in gas, and $75 a piece for a ticket, only to be turned away. In fact, my tickets are still at will call. It was the biggest waste of time in my life."

"Actions speak louder than words. You state that this is your "Green" tour yet you are booked at the most eco-unfriendly venue possible. No public transportation + hundreds, if not thousands, of cars circling the venue for hours does not a small carbon footprint leave, gents.Actions speak louder than words. You state that this is your "Green" tour yet you are booked at the most eco-unfriendly venue possible. No public transportation + hundreds, if not thousands, of cars circling the venue for hours does not a small carbon footprint leave, gents."

"I missed all of it. After sitting in traffic for hours as we made a large loop around the venue (they call it a detour), at the entrance to the lot we payed extra to park in (included in ticket) we were turned away by staff indicating that the show was over. We could still hear the music and the moron staff could as well."

"spent 2.5 hours in traffic AFTER getting off 66... and never seeing the venue or a single song... "

I just hope it's a light rain on Thursday.
