Yeah, that Indians team was stacked, but that Braves pitching staff was phenomenal. And while they didn't have the same offensive firepower, that Braves team had a pretty good lineup as well.

I could definitely see how 97 and 16 were worse for Indians fans.

1997 stung bad.  The fact they had it in the palm of their hands and it fell away.  The phoniness of the Marlins, Sheffield, Bonilla, etc.  Barf.  

2016 was actually the worst.  It was right there.  The sports world was paying close attention to an all-time series.  I attended game 1.  Getting snuffed out in Game 7, then coming from the dead with Davis' homerun.  In the bottom of the 9th, Kipnis hit a foul ball, but live, it looked like a homerun for a split second and I almost passed out.  Then the rain delay gave the Cubs a chance to re-group.
2016 also lives in the reality that the Indians wont ever really have a decade-plus run of being a contender.  If we are lucky, they will get a legit shot every decade or 2, and then back into the pile.  95 and 97 didnt have that.  I also hated Albert Belle.  The 2016 team was so resilient and likeable.  One of, if not my favorite pro sports teams ever.
I think it also hurt more in the fact that we had to watch another, similar, tortured fan base celebrate.

And yes 95 felt like a victory to win the pennant,  which hadn't happened in my lifetime.  A WS win wasn't necessary to celebrate, but would have been nice.

We do.... sort of.... but if I subscribed to our regular cable, I wouldnt get the Indians or Pirates local RSNs.  Mets Im not sure.  Yes Network infects everything like a Virus I think I get it over the air.

Directv has all the RSNs so the games would be on.  However, AT&T blew up their pricing and it isnt worth it.

So I have Hulu Live now and Pirates' AT&T Sportsnet isnt offered.  If I were a Pirates fan, I would be forced to either get Directv or stream illegally.



I would much rather these sports leagues just offer all the teams on their streaming app, home and away feeds.  These blackout things are some of the last death throes of the telecoms' ability to act like monopolies
