Oh man. That sucks. Part of my youth spent watching him run into Ellis Burks haphazardly going after a fly ball that was clearly the CF's play.
    Yes, this does suck.

    "RIP Gator

RIP! I was a fan of his. I don't know why but i always liked his '88 Topps card. Just plain and simple I suppose with the gold trophy on the bottom.

the giants writer on the athletic was just talking about how the giants STILL owe $637M to chapman, adames, lee and devers. that’s less than the mets owe one guy and I’ll take these four….since that one guy can’t play four positions or bat four times in the order. those four weren’t great this year but I expect better from all of them next year.

I had had plenty to drink (shocker!) and gave up after 13, even in my mountain time zone. 10:00? Anyway 10-13 was crazy, with runners on 2nd, no outs, seemingly every inning. I kept thinking “it’s over” but it never was. Not sure if that was great pitching or anemic hitting. Kinda reminded me of my Giants (the hitting).

Go M's. Our guys were there right.

Cubs vs. Mariners might make the band break up. The Cubs are still in it right?

    Bye bye Houston
    And bye bye Soto
I think the Yanks really missed his bat in the playoffs.

So good the Brewers beating Craig Counsell. Only reason I wasn't rooting for the Cubs which I usually would

that’s not what I wanted, but I’m not much of a PJ fan anymore.

there are 3 likeable teams left and one team that is VERY easy to hate. :naughty:

Brewers / Cubs was a pretty classic series and both teams gave it their all.  Either team could have advanced, but the Brewers bullpen really pulled through.   I don't know if the Brewers would have won if Craig Counsell was still managing.  No way Craig would let Patrick pitch another inning because analytics.  That is more of a gut call and Pat Murphy has a decent size gut.  Give the players your trust instead of following a spreadsheet.

Yes please!!! The over use of analytics is killing the sport imo.

Yesterday was the perfect example of the Cubs offense for the 2nd half of the season. It was actually the perfect ending.

Nobody did a damned thing at the plate yesterday. As a team their offense didn't
do a damned thing the entire 2nd half.

But yes, the Brewers pitching staff certainly performed OUTSTANDING yesterday. Above and Beyond.

my observation: both the ousted phillies and cubs might benefit from some Latin position players… I don’t think the all american lineups are necessarily organizational philosophies, but it sure has worked out that way.

    That was a helluva game.

Going to be interesting for those of us in Southwest BC.    I think many people are like me.  I'm a fan of both the Jays and the Mariners.  Jay's are our Canadian team, but Seattle being so close, is like our home team.

I've been a fan of both for decades and it generally doesn't conflict.  Until know, lol.  Still it's going to be awesome that one of my favourite teams will be in the World Series.
