Is there anyone hotter than Springer right now for the Jays?
For the last 2 weeks, no, but Votto is right there over the last month. Marte isn't quite in that stratosphere with the all around numbers, but he's become a steal machine and is hitting unreal. He has 6 multi-hit games and has stolen 8 bases in his last 8 games. Hell, he's only been held hitless 2x in the last month.
    It's a hopeless situation...

There is a pretty strong irony in looking at Marte's big jump in steals when he gets to Oakland.
    Dude is killing it.
Nobody better than Joey the last 30...but he does have 0 steals.

Over the last 2 weeks, not really.  Votto is close.  If I search by last week there are a bunch and if you look at last 30 it is only Votto and Marte.
    Springer is on fire.
Votto had two 2-run homers last night....they lost in extra innings though

I'd like to complain about the bullpen but they held the Braves scoreless until the 11th once Miley went out.
So frustrating, sometimes, to be a baseball fan!

Big jump?  He's stolen 30+ bases 5 other times.

MVP is still Ohtani's for the taking.  Whomever said drop Rendon, I agree.  He has done nadda for the Halos so far.

I always thought it would be Ohtani to be hurt all the time not friggin trout...

With Marlins this year.  22 steals in 67 games.
With A's this year.  9 steals in 11 games.

That is a big jump when he got to Oakland.

Could be A's still play small ball?  9 steals in 11 games is impressive.

If he keeps up this pace I'd be really interested.

A's were the one franchise I would least expect to have a dude stealing 9 in 11 with Billy Beane still at the helm.
I like it -- some flexibility there.

Now that I think of it you are right.  They traded their speedster over to KC last year.  Kevin Merrell.

How about old man Waino getting the SHO last night against that anemic Pirate offense and Burnes dominating the Cubbies like they were still in hibernation for the year. He got 30 swinging strikes and an amazing 51 percent of his pitches were CSW! That guy has been good. It'll be fun to watch him through his prime the next couple of year. He's that rare combo of control and power pitching.

Almost forgot to set the DVR for the Field of Dreams game tonight.  Want to at least check it out - kinda sick of the Yankees but the environment is cool and the Sox are interesting.

The modern day Rob Deer. He did help my 2008 fantasy team a lot though when he first came up and scorched the ball.

My pops was and my brother is a monster Yankees fan.  Watches every game type of drooler, even though he hasn't lived in NYC for 25 years.
Since I am a NL fan I tend to root for the Yankees in the playoffs over most teams.  Boonie also went to USC and was good for my Reds, so I like to root for him.

Pretty burnt on them at this point, though.  Not sure why this year is any worse than any other year, it certainly is easy to get sick of a team that the national media constantly pushes.
