The general feeling among fans is that it looks like a BBQ grill.  Which I guess is appropriate since it's Texas but I don't like it.   The old ballpark is going to be used for high school games.  I've said this before, but I predict it will be leveled for a parking garage within 5 years.

Hopefully the Dodgers score all their runs today and wind up wishing they saved some for the next 2 games...

Looking at the outside, I laughed...

But I read an article that went in depth on the design and what inspired it.  They went off a lot of the old ballparks like Shibe Park, Ebbetts, Tiger Stadium/Navin Field and brought the seats much closer to the game as well as increased the grade of the seats (so the upper rows arent in another zip code).

To me, that is very refreshing.  A pet peeve of a lot of newer sports venues are that they move fans so far away from the action.

Thanks for posting those links.  Sounds like they at least attempted to improve the fan experience.  Which they should for $1 billion dollars; I can't remember the exact amount except the taxpayers are picking up half of it.  I think Arlington residents would quibble about the actual distance to city hall mentioned in the first article.  It says it's 16 miles from Dallas City Hall.  People in Arlington go berzerk when you say that their stuff is located in Dallas.  The first Cowboys game at Jerryworld, the network guys kept calling it the "Palace in Dallas"  and all hell broke loose.
I haven't been there yet or talked to anyone who has but I'm curious about it.
