So question.  It's 2 AM, my baby girl is sleeping. The bride is travelling for work and I am thinking about baseball, because why not. Tempo has made the point a few times that there are basically zero players (cano and cruz), that are 35 and over who are still good.

Rather than max payrolls, knowing players are more valuable earlier early in their early 20s, maybe they look to go year to year for bigger money. If a Judge has a banana year, since he probably wont have a career at 32, maybe MLB says your base salary at 26 is 6 mil over 600k...Make them bring up vlad at 22 and pay him. Get his best years in MLB.  So less long term commitment for teams, but more money up front for production?
