Manfred quoted as saying expansion to 32 teams inevitable. Not a fan. If anything contact to 28 and get rid of fl, tb or az. Have 4 - 7 tm divisions and 2 wc's in each league that could be from same division. We don't need more teams.

I agree. I'd rather see MLB contract too.

absolutely right about who needs to be contracted. Miami won't happen but AZ and TB make perfect sense with their shit stadiums. walk away and don't look back.

I think if Montreal can support a team, TB should go there in a heartbeat. The AL east would be awesome with everyone within a few hundred miles

The thing is, it would take more than contracting 2 teams to make things even. Sure interleague wouldn't be needed all season but there would be more divisions with 4 teams, which clearly isn't fair.

Contract to 28 and have 2 - 7 team divisions in each league. Division winners are in and 2 wildcards in each league (best non division winners)

What would the realignment be if we contract & go to 28 with 4 divisions? Assuming The Rays & D-backs go away...

    AL East:
    Boston Red Sox
    NY Yankees
    Baltimore Orioles
    Toronto Blue Jays
    Cleveland Indians
    Detroit Tigers
    Chicago White Sox

    AL West:
    Minnesota Twins
    Kansas City Royals
    Texas Rangers
    Houston Astros
    LA Angels
    Oakland A's
    Seattle Mariners

    NL East:
    NY Mets
    Philadelphia Phillies
    Washington Nationals
    Pittsburgh Pirates
    Atlanta Braves
    Cincinnati Reds
    Florida Marlins

    NL West:
    Chicago Cubs
    Milwaukee Brewers
    St Louis Cardinals
    Colorado Rockies
    SF Giants
    LA Dodgers
    SD Padres

Not a terrible idea at all but I have a tough time wrapping my head around it.

Would never happen although I do like that division alignment. Phoenix is still paying for that shit stadium and would sue MLB if they tried to contract the DBags. That stadium is in the heart of downtown Phoenix and the economy of all the bars and such depends on them and the Suns. Plus the local government here is great at suing teams and leagues. Just ask the Coyotes owners who have spent the last 5 years in court. The plan also loses one playoff team in each league and there is no way baseball would go down in playoff teams. It would need to be 3 wild cards with the bottom two in a 1 game series.

My problem with my proposed alignment would be the White Sox in the East and Cubs in the West.

Could work with this, just move FL to Montreal. Miami doesn't deserve a team.

Dee Gordon taking an 80 game unpaid vacation. Not exactly the type of player when you think PED's. Makes you really think how many players are really taking.

Steroids too for him. They will be going to 162 game suspension soon for first offense. Players open to allowing contracts voided after positive test.

Players should not give the teams and league this much power

That would be awesome. Teach these piece of shit cheaters a lesson. Hitting the pocket book is the most effective way.
