Jeff Kent moonlighted as a local patrolman on off-days and also appeared as a stuntman in the movie Super Troopers. There is a reason the man didn’t take shit. Don’t mess with the long arm of the law!

Do you remember Ryan Klesko doing ridealongs?  There is footage of him geared up.

    Opening day at Wrigley.
As a kid this was The Second Greatest Day of the year, after Christmas.

Not so much as an adult. But its still a good day. Warm weather is on the way.

@Wo@Wobbie Kent should be in the hall.  Dude was a beast and didn't take shit from Bonds.  He'd have my vote.
If you’re referring to the famous dugout scuffle, that occurred when Kent was berating David Bell after Bell had tried to start a double play instead of just getting the out at first. Kent bobbled the throw, they got no outs and a biggish inning ensued. Bonds stood up for Bell and told Kent to STFU. But, as always, everyone thought it was Bonds being a dick.

but yeah, they were BOTH dicks and one, if not both, should be in the HOF. It’s a shame the voters but as much weight on personality as they do on numbers.
Jeff Kent is not a hall of famer
He’s as hall of famey as your boy rolen.
Fuck Scott Rolen.  And agree should not be a hall of famer

For the time Kent was an absolute beast of a hitter and got largely overshadowed by having Bonds on his team. Looking at his numbers I will take that back. He doesn't have the longevity of great years like I thought.  Only a 5.

So I stand corrected.  He is NOT a HOFer.
I would say nine really good years 1997-2005.

Man. I remember following Dotel as a big time prospect with the Mets in the late 90’s I remember being bummed he was included in the trade that sent Mike Hampton to Mets. I think at one point he had the record for most teams played for ever…RIP.
