Giants fan favorite Vogelsong pitching today for the Pirates. A win would really endear Vogey to our hearts.

Astros should be making some interesting moves in the offseason.

Rough start & they couldn't quite recover.

I'm shocked Marlins canned Bonds. A few guys had great years and credited Bonds for it. I don't know the stats for the team and if they were down but that was quick.

La Russa may get the ax. Rumors are starting to swirl out here. Team isn't sure if they want to go full rebuild. If they do he is probably out. If they want to just add some established pieces he may stay. They had their lowest attendance ever this season. Payroll went way up. Not a good combo.

I thought Bonds did well for the marlins in his first year. I think towards the end they stopped hitting. They should fire their GM for making bad trades at the deadline

The claim for firing Bonds was that the Marlins scored the 4th fewest runs in the NL. But they also posted the 4th highest batting avg as a team. Sounds like Bonds was doing his job and the base coaches weren't.

The more Rob talks, the dumber everyone gets. Vin scully was over rated? Bonds was too good for the Marlins? I guess being 27th in runs scored makes you a great hitting coach. And for Christ's sake, we get it, you don't like David ortiz.

    What a homer.

Also notice a fan giving the Finger to Jones when he was pointing up.

Showalter getting away not using Britton. If he lost that game while Britton was sitting in the Bull pen, the press would be all over him.

No, makes winning the Division more important. I know you said you wish they could have best of 3, but the teams that Win the Division would have too much time off.

I call it the play-in game. Game 163 if you will. So, one game is fine to me. After tomorrow's game, the playoffs start.

Bob Nightengale Tweeted that Zach Britton said he was perfectly healthy, frustrated he didn't pitch.

Best closer in all of MLB and dumbfuck Buck throws his absolute worst pitcher on the mound in extras. :i_dunno:

the Cubs already don't play until Friday. You can play 3 games before then. and no reason for the NL to play a day later. Baseball plays just about every night during the regular season so playing 4 or 5 straight nights is not a big deal for a team. there are too many days off during the playoffs, obviously dictated by tv. plus making the wild card teams play at least 2 games with few days off will be more taxing on their pitching staff and require more travel which would give the division winners an even bigger benefit than they currently get. just my opinion.

    ^^^^^^^

Which already is too long for the Cubs. You know MLB: If they had best of 3 this year, the Cubs probably wouldn't play for a week or so. Yeah, 2 days off for the NL to play that play-in game is ridiculous. Hell, if the WS goes to game 6 it will be played Nov. 1st. With added games the WS might not get done until Thanksgiving>HAHA>And, like you said TV doesn't help.

Win the Division. Play-in game is game 163 to make the playoffs. And i think that game should be played on Monday.

How did he not use Britton?!? It was clear that Jimenez had nothing out there....that's awful.

Yeah, that was awful. Apparently there were some racial slurs directed at Kim and Jones thrown in for good measure. That's brutal.

I guess. I have been to about half a dozen Blue Jays games over the years and I have never seen such obnoxious and drunk fans anywhere else. Don't get me wrong, I like to have a good time, those Canadians seem to take it to another level though.

I would be willing to bet Buck is unemployed in the next couple of days. Leaving Britton on the bench is such a Buck move.

Which means Baltimore wins the World Series next year, right? See, Yanks and Arizona
