right now, unless you're a fan of the d**gers, rangers or cardinals, you're rooting for flawed or shitty teams. seems like other than those 3, there's a whole lot of mediocrity out there :?

Agreed, those three are clearly better than the rest right now. I am confident in the Yanks that they'll put it together soon. Baltimore is a joke. Can't believe Boston is in the cellar, they have to turn it around quickly and get some guys back.

Offense disappears and the pitching has been suspect. Frustrating as hell so far. That lineup will hit consistently though and I think the pitching will be fine. Time will tell.

you forgot the rays ... they just play good fundamental baseball ... moving runners over ... manufacturing runs ... makes a huge difference ...

Eh, I don't think they have the offense to hold up, especially without Longoria.

honestly i don't know how or why the dodgers are doing so well...after kemp and ethier, our batting drops way off...shit we just signed abreu! and kershaw has been up and down and we are a mess in the bullpen

but donny baseball has been doing a helluva job...except for his love of sac bunts...that shit's gotta stop

i think they manufacture runs out of not a whole lot ... they get productive outs ... their pitching staff is solid and their bullpen is taking care of business ... i see them winning the al east this year ...

I don't think productive outs and moving runners leads to winning the AL East. You have to have firepower to win that division. I like their pitching a lot, but I don't like their offense a little bit.

the only decent team they've beaten all year is the Nats. then again, there's not many decent teams in the NL.

Braves score a lot of runs, have solid starters, and their bullpen is mostly doing good but can become stellar. They are a contendar.

The 110-game suspension for Rockies cather Eliezer Alfonso was overturned for the same reason Braun's suspension was overturned. I don't know why it took so long to get a ruling on his case, though. He missed the last 15 games of 2011 and the first 33 games of 2012, so he already served about half of his supension before there was a ruling on his appeal.

edit: Apparently, the suspension wasn't overturned by arbitration, MLB just overturned it after reviewing the case.

    Braves alone in 1st!

Their pitching from last year and their hitting from this year would create a monster team. Their pitching isnt bad, but I expect it to pick it up soon.

I don't know if anyone else saw this, but John Axford's wife went into labor during the Brewer's 13-inning win the other night. He blew the save in the game, which ended his streak of 49 consecutive saves. Since he couldn't stick around to talk to reporters, he was kind enough to leave a note:

    http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/ ... uch-rules/

I tried to insert the image of the note but it was too big and I couldn't figure out how to make it smaller.
