Um, I am a bit late on seeing this but did anyone catch Steve Phillips saying the Nationals should trade Strausberg for Oswalt? Fucking really? And this guy was a fucking GM?

Scully is the best. The Tigers announcers Mario Impeda and Rod Allen do a nice job. Hawk Harrelson cracks me up because of how much of a blatant homer he is. The Cubs announcers are decent as well. One who I don't care for, though I haven't seen a lot is Rob Dibble on the Nationals telecasts.

Dibble is horrendous. Almost as bad as mark grace.

I'm not a fan of the tigers guys...the cubs guys are great. and even though I hate the cubs, that go cubs go song after a win is money

It is really unfucking believeable. Strausberg for OSWALT?!?!?! REALLY?!?!?!

Phillips was the one that made the Kazmir trade, correct?

Edit: I would never ever ever fucking consider trading Phil Hughes for Oswalt and he thinks they should trade the number 1 prospect in all of baseball for a decl, ining 33 year old pitcher?

yeah, he made the kazmir trade.

I'm not an oswalt fan either. his best years are behind him. I'd take him, but I sure as hell wouldn't overpay

how to fix your pitching.....send them to a PJ concert

since the columbus show Bronson Arroyo has pitched 30.1 innings and sports a sparking 2.08 ERA. prior to the show, he had pitched 36.2 innings and had a 6.14 era

That was Jim Duquette who made the trade. Phillips was fired from the Mets in June 2003.

Good call, but either way. Phillips is as intelligent about baseball and women as my left nut.

I doubt it. Night 1 they were in Washington and night 2 the game took three hours, so if they rushed they'd have been lucky to see the second encore.

so...............the cubbie pitcher today gives up 5 runs (in 16 pitches!) and never records an out. Do they have to give him a third of an inning to figure his new ERA? seriously...........I don't know the answer.

he doesn't get an era for the game....for the season, the runs will be added to his total, but he won't get any more innnings added.

for the season, he will jump from 3.99 to 4.79

makes sense...................I guess :wtf: . kinda seems like he gets off easy..........cuz for today, he was looking at infinity.

figures you'd answer here and not in the wacky cubs thread!

Oswalt is actually having a great year.
His era is 2.35 and has a quality start in all 10 of his starts.
His record of 3-6 is because of the team he is on.
I'm not saying it would be a good trade. Just saying he is pitching very good.

Quick quiz who leads the AL in era.
    Don't cheat either.
