Austin Martin, BlueJays young stud, traded to Minnesota for Berrios and a bag of chips.

What a move of Minny.  Good for them.
Huh, surprised. Twins giving up on Berrios. That means he'll either be the best pitcher in baseball in 2 years or done.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Meh, Yankees spend lots of money, NY still loses in playoffs and player throws away career until NY dumps them. It's a rough cycle, but seems perpetual. Yankees gotta Yankee.
I read that the Cubs will be paying the rest of Rizzo's salary.
Yeah, because the NYY can't afford to pay the rest of his salary.

Why did the Rockies NOT trade Trevor Story?

They didn't want to go over the $210 million threshold.

They gave up Canaria for him though.  Dude was the future of the franchise.  At least they kept Bart.

Votto extends the homer streak in his 3rd at bat. Now 1 shy of tying the record.

The past few drafts your team has done really well.  Very solid players developing.

I heard that his near homer that would have been 8 games in a row would have been a homer in 10 ballparks.  That was close as hell.  It looked like it only needed to be about 6 inches higher to clear the wall.

Ha - baseball is a game of inches.  Certainly proved true in this case, that looked like it was going to be out.
Hope he can continue.  With Tatis hitting the DL, the Redlegs have a chance to make up some ground on that last WC spot, just need to keep winning.
Getting the 3 bullpen arms back from injury and getting Castellanos, Moustakas, and Senzel back from the IL is absolutely key if they want to stay somewhat relevant.  Votto cannot carry the team at this point in his career.

  • Reds hosting Shittsburgh for 4, starting this evening.  Need a sweep.  Need our best hitter to come off the IL and resume mashing.
    Need SD to lose.

Not sure why I care...if they make the playoffs they will be the worst team in.

Scherzer was lights out last night.  Doyers look ready to roll, again.

Up by 2.   Bottom of the ninth. Two outs and you find a way to lose.

Ive been watching for three decades and it never gets easier

Rendon out for the damn season now?  Halos can not catch a damn break.  They are bringing Adell up though so hopefully he adds some pop to that lineup.

Scherzer looked awesome and Odorizzi did not. Fun 2 game series to watch, though. Astros need to get healthy.

Weirdly excited for this - those White Sox unis look sweet. A shame either have to have the swoosh on there, real old timey-like...

it can’t be said enough….fuck the dodgers. so sad they didn’t feel they had enough to chase down a team with 3 all stars…two of whom are nearing the end of their careers.
