Very sad news for his family and the Marlins. I saw him last year at spring training in Jupiter FL, a great talent he was and person. He visited the Honda Classic in Jupiter last year along with other Marlin players on military day for past and present veterans. Shook hands and took many photos with the vets in many ways lifting their spirits....he will be missed. Oh let me add there were two others that were sadly killed as well.

Especially here in South Florida at night 3 in the morning it's pitch black and at high tide. Any rocks about just won't be seen. A terrible accident for sure and they have cancelled the Marlins game today.

Been an Angels fan for 27 years and I know the sad feeling regarding Nick Adenhart. My condolences to his friends, family and Marlins fans. RIP
  • That's just awful. Sounds like he was a good dude too in addition to being one of the best pitchers out there. Sad stuff.

Man, this is so sad .

    RIP: Jose Fernandez
  • That was the first notification I received on my phone this morning. Just absolutely terrible. One of the most exciting pitchers to watch and an even better person. Always saw him with a smile on his face, enjoying every moment life gave him. Gone way too soon!

    This is the best.

I hope this serves as a lesson for all the assholes who talk about playing the game the right way and the unwritten rules. Dude just had fun playing baseball because you know what? It's a fucking game. Shut up about your unwritten rules and have fun because it can all be taken away from you just like that.

  • I was glued to the Marlins/Mets game. Shed some tears quite a few times. The Dee Gordon homer was just unreal. Crushed it. Bour getting his first career triple. The pitching committee completely shutting the Mets done. They were determined & they came through.

end of Cardinals game is why I have a problem with Bonds, et al. being called "cheaters." no one ever says "no, the ptch didn't hit me" or "yes, I trapped the ball" or whatever.

  • Couldn't the umpires have reviewed that on their own and not needed to hear from the Reds to challenge?

Amazing tidbit on Vin Scully today during the Cards game...He called games that Connie Mack managed and games with Julio Urias. Connie Mack was born during the a Civil War, when Abe Lincoln was prez and Urias was born the year google started.
