I don't understand it. Don't they already lead the league in runs? They need pitching.

I agree with that, but I would imagine they are going to get pitching still. I think that is a no brainer trade for them though. Those two pitching prospects are far from sure things. That said, I don't mind them losing pitching prospects when they already have terrible pitching.

JUST IN: the #Mets reportedly backed out of the trade with the #Brewers due to concern over a hip issue w/Carlos Gomez.

White Sox are on fire right now. 2 weeks ago I wanted them to trade just about everyone on the roster. This 2nd wild card spot sure has changed things....now they're only 2.5 games out after winning 7 in a row. Crazy.

How did Detroit get more for Price as a rental player than Philly got for Hamels? Amaro held out trading Hamels for not even one of Texas top prospects. This is why the Phils suck right now.

with 60 to go, here's my take on the playoffs:

yankees - have no fucking idea how they're doing it. I can't see them going far with that pitching.
toronto - might just be a WC team that could win it all.
KC - supposedly the best team in the AL, but I don't see lightning striking twice for them.
astros - I LOVE this team and would love to see them in the WS...they are definitely all in...I do wonder about their lack of experience.
angels - fuck them...astros are their daddy.
whoever gets the second WC - other than baltimore, no shot.

nats - definitely have the talent. outside of scherzer, tho, has the pitching been all it was expected to be?
cardinals - can never be counted out.
pirates - might be due in their 3rd straight postseason.
    cubs - no.
dodgers - a toxic clubhouse with a doofus for a manager. I can only see latos making the clubhouse worse. these guys play for themselves.
    giants - see: cardinals

Feds are investigating. Mlb agreed to step back until that is done. You know how swiftly our justice system works. In 3 years we will find everything out.
