You boys feel free to laugh. I don't even want to think about what stupidity Daniels will pull next. I'm sure they'll be firing Ron Washington soon.
Kinsler is my FAVORITE Ranger. Trading him for Prince Fucking Fielder? :fp:
Where's Flagg? He always puts some intelligent perspective on things.
I guess we know now. Gentry and Lindblom gone for 2 prospects. AJ gone. Cruz probably gone. Daniels is out of his head. His ego has gone wild since they kept him and got rid of Nolan Ryan. Looks like we are going to field a triple A team next year, like the Astros

Daniels has to show that he's in charge now, even if it means making the worst deals possible. Which he seems pretty determined to do. I swear, it's going to be years before we recover from this shit.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Roy Halladay, a two-time Cy Young winner who pitched a perfect game and a postseason no-hitter for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010, announced he is retiring Monday after signing a one-day contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. A news conference is scheduled this afternoon for Halladay, who for his career went 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA, 2,117 strikeouts, 67 complete games and 20 shutouts for the Phillies and Jays.
His chances for the Hall of Fame probably should be described as "possible," if not likely.
Halladay, who has suffered from shoulder injuries the past two years, had a 6.82 ERA in 13 starts for the Phillies in 2013. Able to throw fastballs only in the low 80s in his final start, Halladay sought medical solutions but was prescribed only rest. He was finishing up a three-year, $20 million deal with Philly.
Halladay's signature moment came in the National League Division Series against the Cincinnati Reds in '10 when he pitched a no-hitter. It was his first career postseason appearance after 11 seasons with the Blue Jays. Halladay had pitched a perfect game earlier in the regular season. He won the NL Cy Young that season, also winning in '03 with the Jays.
Reporter Shi Davidi of Sportsnet in Canada writes that all of Halladay's successes might not have happened if the Blue Jays hadn't reconstructed Halladay's physical and mental approach earlier in his career:
His ascension to stardom was derailed by struggles so severe in 2000 and early 2001 that the Blue Jays sent him all the way down to single-A, where pitching guru Mel Queen rebuilt his delivery and mental approach to the game.
Halladay returned midway through the 2001 season and never looked back, throwing at least 220 innings in eight of the next 10 seasons (forearm problems cut his season short in 2004 while a fractured leg ruined a brilliant 2005).
so....a couple of managers (torre, la russa) who rode to titles on big juiced up shoulders waltz right into the HOF but the juicing players are blackballed. totally fucked up.

He didn't like being benched in the playoffs for David Ross. It didn't make sense for the Sox to throw that kind of money at someone who's a liability in big games. More power to him.

Bronson Arroyo to the Twins would be a nice addition.
Not sure what to make of the their moves so far. They probably gave an extra year to both Hughes and Nolasco than they should have, but it's also nice to see some FA moves by them, especially considering that their investment window with Mauer is quickly closing (he's already no longer a catcher).

soo ... is it your guys belief that during the "steroid era" everyone was on the juice like when lance was cycling?
it's kind of hard to have a respectable Hall of Fame for baseball when the all time hits leader, all time home run leader and the pitcher with the most Cy Young awards aren't included.
well ... i think the issue is would these people have the all time records if not for using PEDs ... and did they accomplish this vs other athletes who chose to not use PEDs ...
for my part - the thing that bugs me most about all these guys is that they are generally assholes ... i have a particular disdain for assholes ... so, if they are being denied entry ... i don't feel too bad for them ... i know the HOF doesn't base entry on character ... but that it definitely factors in if I were to vote ...

Would Babe Ruth have put up the same numbers if the league were integrated?
Would Hank Aaron have put up the numbers without Greenies? Schmidt?
Would Gaylord Perry be in the HOF without the spitball?
Was Ty Cobb a racist asshole?
What about the 154 game season?
The best players in a game shouldn't get in a Hall Of Fame because of their personality?
