Nobody's easy at this time of year. Besides, both NL teams have way more postseason experience than Detroit does.

Bryve Harper got owned in the 9th. The Nats will be a formidable team for a while. This just may be part of the learning curve but kudos to the Cardianls for not packing it in. Wow.

Who cares.. experience doesn't win it.. being good and getting lucky does.. I hope the Tigers play good enough to benefit from when they get lucky..

and all time, I think Tigers might have more playoff experience..

Experience doesn't win it but it sure helps. Notice how cool under pressure the Cardinals were compared to the Nationals tonight? I just think it's funny that you're looking ahead to a possible "easier" World Series before the LCS even starts.

And all-time, the Tigers have nowhere near as much postseason experience as the Cardinals, Giants, or Yankees. In fact, no one does except maybe the Dodgers and Braves.

experience does win it. look at the 3 of 4 teams in the LCS. those 3 teams have all been there in recent years and are battle tested when it counts the most. since 03 the cards are 6-0 in postseason elimination games, that's called experience. the nats couldn't hold onto that lead cause they haven't been there and haven't failied yet.

  • as a cards fan i am the first to admit i wrote us off after the 2nd inning. it seemed like wainwright was trying to lose so he can film his next hunting show or something. he was not just hit, he was hit HARD tonight and he was missing his spots in an ugly way.

against the odds and down to our last strike twice we were able to slowly pull it back together and pull off an amazing win.

honestly i feel really bad for the nats and their fans because they had an amazing team this year. i am sorry to see their playoffs end early because they, of all teams deserved to have a long run this year. if the cards had lost or not made the playoffs i would have been pulling for the nats to win it all because they deserve the chance to play for the title.

you nats fans are going to have a team that will be a big force in the national league for years to come.

Johnson pitching Storen in the 9th inning of gave three was really stupid.
The score was 8 - 0 at the time.
Storen gets the win in game four.
By the time Storen came on in game five he had already thrown 37 pitches in back to back games.
Storen missed most of the year due to injury and was not that sharp in game five due to the heavy workload.
    Huge error on Johnson.

The national are a mystery to me...they put a innings limit on Strasburg...right? so why didn't they have him skip starts in the regular season so they would of had him available for post season play?

As for last night game the Cardinals were down to their last strike twice and the pitcher walked both hitters...that has nothing to do with experience...he didn't make his pitches.

The Tigers concern should be Benoit and Valverde...inconsistency in the number 2...if Jackson and whoever hits number get on consistently then I think they'll score some runs...wishing Leyland would quit be so loyal and give some else a shot in the 8th or 9th...however Benoit is more worrisome than Valverde.
