easily one of the funniest shows ever....some people dont get it...and then there are the ones who are blessed to be able to understand great comedy :)!!!

kudos to dave...great willpower on his behalf to turn all that money down for the following seasons to get back to what he actually enjoyed doing :)

that show is easily top 5 comedy!!

Was just talking about this show with a friend the other day. Probably the funniest skit show ever! For like 2-3 years, everyone seemed to be screaming out a favorite dave chapelle quote.

If he can ever get himself back together, HBO should pick him up! Or maybe letterman would want to retire! Imagine dave hosting a tonight show!

    He needs to come back!

I was dying during this skit.
Leon was my prediction for a cameo, but to include the haters, the white news anchor, lil Wayne & the klansman was brilliance.

The monologue was great too, very well done....... I miss Dave Chapelle.

I love Dave and agree with a lot of his stuff. I'm not sure if it's because of what happened with his friend Daphne, but a couple of things seemed intentionally mean spirited. He usually does a good job of bringing us back around, but this seemed really pointed. I still liked it, but he got away from the comedy a little more than he usually does and if that ending was completely true, it's fucking tragic.

First of all, I laughed very hard. Dave is beyond a master, and while some might not consider him the GOAT, the amount of material he has put out as a stand-up in the last 5 years is staggering. And it always makes me laugh and looks so effortless.

….but I will say, he loses me a little bit toward the end. I get his point, he jealous and he admits as much. But reiterating his point about Mohamed Ali changing his name being harder than Caitlyn Jenner changing her gender is a real head scratcher. I’m pretty sure that if she tried to do that at the same time that he changed his name it would have been even more frowned upon.

I had not realized what Ali put up with until I watched the Ken Burns doc.  Reporters refused to call him Ali for a long time after he changed his name.  Pretty disrespectful to address him as "Mr Clay" three years after he became known as Muhammad Ali.

I had a similar thought. I understand he says things that are outrageous to elicit a response, but he missed on that point. For the record, I watched it with my 18 year old trans nephew that lives with me. If he was offended at all, I couldn't tell. He's got a good rational head on his shoulders and understands he shouldn't be offended just because someone else says so. He laughed the entire time. We talked about it afterwards because I couldn't believe he wasn't offended at some of it. His response - "It's comedy, it's supposed to be ridiculous"
Dave made a good point about a lot of the people getting so offended not being there or didn't really watch. Although, towards the end there seemed to be two large white women near the front who didn't seem like they were laughing anymore.

If you are ever in Louisville, check out the Muhammad Ali Center. It is a real eye opener. We took a group of high school students there as part of a student council trip a few years ago. It has a lot of information about him and the struggles he had to overcome and stories of other human rights issues.

For sure, but I think if the whole Caitlyn Jenner thing had happened in the 60's, it would have been much different. I feel like Dave used a poor comparison without considering the time and climate of the two events.

I made it through the first 25 minutes before getting bored and turning it off. As much as I loved his TV show, I never really liked his standup. I remember everybody loving his "Killing Me Softly" special from years ago, but I was like "eh." And he's gotten worse since then. But that's just me. I know most people revere him as a standup.
