Its a good song. I like it. I like the message. I will enjoy it if its played. But I think everyone will be better off if I don't sing loudly! I'm sure they'd rather hear Ed.

Probably the part he's talking about is where Ed steps away from the mic and asks the audience to chime in on the "No Mores"

lol. I totally missed the post when I scanned through the thread. Hilarious. As you can see from my last post, your sarcasm found its way to my brain right away :)

I would expect nothing less. Most veterans of the board default to sarcasm when they see outright malicious posts. Is that a good thing?

regardless of opinion on the war that is just a TERRIBLE song... its incredibly sad that tom fell into a coma and i wish him and his family the best, but im afraid the timing of that means "no more" will probably be played at just about every PJ show of the tour... and that being the case its gonna be treated as a bathroom break song by many

  • its not like people were throwing bottles at the stage or anything. a few cheers, a few grumbles, a lot of impatient waiting for the next song. typical 'No More' reaction really.

not a great song. sucks about his friend though.

I actually don't think the song is *that* bad

It's not THAT bad... but its going to be in the bottom 2/3 for any show I hear it in.

As I've said in another thread.. if you want to bash Bush play Bushleaguer... thats at least got good music behind it.

But it's not that good either. ;)

Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?
  • im irish and i have no support for the ''troops'' they shouldnt be there i dont care that they are giving this great ''sacrifice'' that americans seem to go on about do you really think your country would be under seige if they werent there? do you really think they are stopping a great war that would be ragen across america if they werent there? i say no there not protecting your 'freedom' so why glorifie them
Speaking as a child of the 90's
  • No More, IMO, is a great song but if others don't like it, I understand that.
I do however, disagree with the OP. Just because the people around you didn't sing along doesn't mean they don't support the troops. For all you know the guy stood next to you could've lost someone in combat and you're posting tripe like that? Hell, for all you know, they could've been singing their hearts out to it at the last two shows and are sick of singing it! Be serious man, it's a song and it's peoples individual choice as to whether they sing or not.
As long as you feel you did your best at singing and enjoyed yourself, it shouldn't matter :)
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
