People really need to knock it off with the whole "entitlement" deal.

More than ever before, Pearl Jam is a business. The fans are the consumers. The consumers allow for the success of the business. People wanna complain about the "entitlement" of some fans, but the fact is a lot of those fans who may feel entitled have pumped a LOT of money into Pearl Jam Inc. I can't say that I blame them for being upset over some of the things that get pulled.

I have a question about the lottery. Is there a separate line to get in the show for PJ club members? I'm going to MSG II. If i don't have my ticket what will the people at MSG do or do I have to tell them i'm a 10c member?

it amazes me how many people are unable to deal in reality

why is it so hard to understand that the band calls the shots... if they want their sisters housekeeper to sit 2nd row... then he's going to sit... take a guess....

    cmon you can do it.....

    think LOGICALLY.....

THAT'S RIGHT!!! IN THE FUCKIN 2ND ROW!!!! YAAAYYY ... GOOD JOB TIMMY!!!

that's not that hard to figure out is it???

The Lottery is a gift from the band.... they're the ones that decide how much of a gift they are giving ... and that's fine... it's a gift...

there is no contract that states what this lottery is

they create the lottery to give fans a chance up front... and i would say there are thousands of fans who are beyond thankful for that chance... hundreds of fans HAVE WON... that is a fact

the sense of entitlement that people have really baffles me... i truly hope that the band doesn't read this forum... or if they do it's filtered for them so they can read the logical posts

i have no problem with people sharing an opinion ... good or bad

but the bitching gets so out of hand that it's no wonder most PJ fans have given up on this board and instead stick to RM or facebook or whatever

and just to be clear... joe36912 - you started this thread just to rile people up? you're benefitting from the bands generosity and so you pay them back by coming on here and sharing some information that could be considered insider?? really??

how would you feel if the band took back your friends 4 tix to msg I & 2 & hartford?

see i was just gonna say some people need to remove their craniums from their rectums but this is good too ;)

I'll never complain about how the lottery works, as I won in Philadelphia last year, greatest night of my life. And I can only assume that was random because there's no way any band member specifically wanted me up there.

If you have ten club tickets, you pick them up at the window on the day of the show. That is when you find out where your seats are and if you are in row 1,2, 9 or 10 then you won the lottery.

Pearl Jam and the Ten club can do what they want reguarding the lottery..But, don't call it a random lottery when in all reality it isn't....I am greatful for the tickets I receive from the fan club...I have been a member for a long time..Just would be nice to see the fans that have crappy fan club numbers up fron in first two rows etc..Instead of the fans that always have 3rd-5th row tickets winning the lottery often..

stop complaining about your seats. omg i was only in the 11th row. tell that to the guy in the upper deck who loves the bands music more then some "right" to a great seat. get over it.

how about your go start a band and then tell your friends and family to sit in the upper deck.

Well for the first time I won the lottery in columbus, 2nd row center. These seats were not wasted and I brought as much energy as possible to the show... It was a dream 15 years in the making coming true. If I never have it happen again that's fine, because I'll always have that night. I think this system gives that same "night" as an option to all, not just the long term fan clubers... my number is 191xxx... I thought i'd be 10 rows back... i haven't stopped smiling in 3 days... it's starting to hurt!

Thats fuckin great, I'm always glad to read people being THANKFUL at a perk like this. I'm like 0-11(5 more shots on this tour) in the lottery, always have butterflies prior to picking my tix up at the window. Letdown for a few seconds after as I'm sure everyone is.....then i grab a beer or three and rock out no matter where I am.

and your right, If I win I'll never care if I do again! That memory must be awesome

    Though LA4 '09 felt like a lotto win Thanks 10c :)

I'm a 279XXX and I was 16th row, right between Ed and Stone. For my first show in 2003, I was in the 4th row of the upper level. I was absolutely SHOCKED to have such good seats. The guy I went with said the seats were awesome, because even though we were in the 16th row, we had the speakers pointing right at us...and I could hear the ringing in my ears later that night. Yeah, we had a few heads in front of us, but I wasn't complaining.

The interesting thing was that there were people in the 400,000's who were on the sides, in the "regular stands" of the lower level. I was right in front of someone who had a very low number, and she said she was a member since the 90's.

Realize that it's not perfect, that no system will be perfect, but realize that even if you bitch at 2nd row, or 8th row, or 10th row, there are a ton of other people who would be more than happy to get those seats.

Just because some seats are being given out to family (which I think should be!) doesn't mean the lottery is a sham. Hundreds and hundreds of fans are getting them every tour. Once you win it you realize it's a great thing this band does for it's fans. I got lottery seats, I had no reason to be that close other than the fact I love this band's music as much as anyone on earth does, plain and simple. And they just showed me a little love back! :D

I think the lottery is great and that the Ten Club is thinking about new members or the younger generation who are just discovering music and falling in love with Pearl Jam.

When I told my 14 yr old son that Pearl Jam was touring he was instantly asking if I would get tickets. He knows my fan club seats would be better than his, but some day he will be going to shows by himself. Having a chance to win the lottery, no matter how small, is the only way he'd ever get close with such a high number.

I agree that it's awesome that they're giving fans who would otherwise have no chance at being that close the opportunity to do so. Before the lottery I was in the front row every show, and now I'm in the 3rd. I am so fortunate that I had the opportunity to see them in the front row on multiple occasions, and I am happy that other people can have that same experience. It's awesome to see someone who woke up that day expecting to be waaaay in the back be escorted to the front row. I love the Ten Club and I love that this band has even set up a ticketing system for their fans. They could be like the majority of other bands out there and just let us battle it out with ticketmaster, and possibly not score tickets at all.

Some people see the glass half-empty, some see it half-full, and in this situation I see it as overflowing :D

Come to Europe and have GA entry, no need to worry about where your seats are, where friends and family of the band are...just thinking about the amazing time you're having surrounded by friends and feeling the bass hitting inside your chest :D

And I'm sure if you had 'contacts' you would try to get a deal from them too. I ready to bet that not one person here would refuse a front row (or so) ticket offered to them by someone in the industry, even if seniority or lottery doesn't 'entitle' them to the seat, saying 'it's not fair for the others'.

yeah I don't understand the issue.

The lottery is to have a chance to sit in rows 1,2,9, or 10. No where does it say all seats in those rows are reserved solely for ten club fan members
