Shows certainly can be canceled. I've even seen shows canceled on the same day, a few hours before showtime at arenas for the dumbest reasons.

...it's not likely unless there's a threat. Last time I was b/s at MSG in 2008, everything seemed the same as the last time I was there in 2000, except a bomb sniffing dog was walking around there. And that was just a regular event. If there's any real threat, I'm sure they will put more police on patrol.

If you're worried about car bombs or anything, the arena floor is on the 5th floor - for better or for worse, and the entrance to the ramp which spirals inside the venue usually (now) has barricade blocking it. Also there used to be a car underpass which went under a footbridge that brings the audience into the arena from the entrance. That seems to be blocked off now as well, but it wasn't in 2000.

but of course, and individual could bring something in that's a problem but on a smaller scale.

Before we get everyone all riled up, the threats of storms tonight in Indy are probably more of a threat to tonights show that what happend in NYC last week to shows two weeks away.

I'm going into the city this weekend -- Fuck these assholes. Once they catch them, I think they should let them go in times square let us New Yorkers have at them. I would smash their fucking heads with one of those nice table and chairs that are there now, and I am usually non violent. These pricks going after innocents just piss me right off.

listen everyone, i live in NYC and we all go about our business. We ride the subways, ride the buses, walk through midtown, go to work , eat at restaurants, drink at bars, go to Yankee Stadium.... The terror alert is the same today as it was 2 months ago, 6 months ago and even 3 years ago. it's just that some dumbass made it a more publicized this week.

the Knicks and Rangers played their home games, MSG had plenty of high profile concerts and Broadway ran all their shows. Pearl Jam will not be cancelled. if you are coming in from out of town still come. If you recall right after 9/11 there was that monumental concert at MSG and that was when NY was at it's highest terror alert, even if we didn't fully recognise it at that time.

    the show will go on!

Meh. While I don't live there, I go there frequently. NYC is a tough place. I'm not scared. If the quality of the 'scares' is like what took place on Sunday I doubt we have anything to worry about - housekeys left in the ignition, VIN left on engine, non-explosive fertilizer coupled with fisher price clock and consumer grade fireworks? Chin up people.
