  • Personally, I have enjoyed some of the impact tracks. People this is the band's channel, and they are going to do what they want. Giving exposure to some of their friends is going to happen.
Seems like a pretty Republican way of thinking "PJ or nothing" for a band and its fans who seem to be more socially conscious.
Those other bands are pretty thankful I am sure, you all sound like elitist snobs.

Guess you wouldn't complain if you were at a PJ concert and every 3-4 songs they bought up another band to play either?
That comparison doesn't even make sense. :confounded:
I can listen to PJ Radio every day, they don't play live every day. Odd response.
The point is: you go to a Pearl Jam concert expecting to hear Pearl Jam. You turn on PJ Radio expecting to hear Pearl Jam as well.

Yeah i guess you're right...comparing two avenues for hearing the same band doesn't make sense.

  • Nevermind, obviously you are an unreasonable person who thinks they way they expect things is the only way.

I'd prefer one impact track an hour and no contemporaries. But I enjoy the station as is and have several other stations to change to if need be.

Wow, so you're calling me an elitist snob because I don't want to hear an "impact track" every 3rd song on a SiriusXM station called PJ radio, that I pay for? And a Republican at that? You're mistaken my friend. I am allowed to voice my opinion on this matter, as I feel the "impact tracks" have been on a much heavier rotation lately. You obviously don't listen to PJ radio. • I cancelled my SiriusXM subscription and made it a point to tell them the only reason was because of my dislike for the impact tracks and contemporaries. I only listened to it in the car and my wife still subscribes in her car so if there is a show I really want to hear, I can always stream it through my phone. My wife is a big Elvis fan and when they changed the PJ format, she was very surprised. When you tune into Elvis radio, all they have is Elvis.

Sorry, but I don't hang out on the PJ message boards all day, and I was not aware this issue was brought up previously. Have a nice day.

  • So my wife and I were listening to PJ radio yesterday, and I swear that they would play 1 or 2 PJ songs, then an impact track, then 1-2 more PJ songs, followed by another impact track. This is getting ridiculous. Can't something be done about this?

Personally, I have enjoyed some of the impact tracks.

But thanks for your worthless comments anyway. </blockquoon

    Bgirl59:
My two cents....I listen to PJ Radio every day during my commute to and from work, and on weekends when I can, like now while my Jeep gets her oil changed, so I have enough knowledge to give an opinion ....when the impact track comes on, I sigh with disappointment, but I listen for a few seconds, then if I really can't stand it I'll hit the pause button. Remember, our favorite band didn't become Awesome listening to only one band, their musical diversity makes them AWESOME! Free your mind!!

Agreed to go on a road trip with my dad tomorrow. My only request- Pearl Jam radio for the entire trip!

That's great to do that and I hope you had fun!
Does your dad like PJ? I could not do that with my dad for an entire trip lol !

Btw, is there something what could be done for us German members about that poor radio reception? Or am I the only one having this problems?
It only connects for exactly 20 seconds than lost it for 20 sec. and so on. I can't endure that for more than one song...
  • Can someone confirm or refute if it was Light years from Chile a moment ago? 2 am Buenos Aires time

    No, it's Toronto show, 2011, night 2

No LatinAmerica concert flashback this week? What about next?

it's not about freeing your mind. it's about getting what you pay for. if this was ten club radio they were talking about, then fine; no leg to stand on. but this is a paid service that PJ diehards want to be ALL pj. I don't subscribe. But if I did I'd expect nothing but pearl jam.

it's a similar deal with the newsletter and them interviewing other bands. it's a PJ Deep mag that we get once a year. I want it to be PJ, not an interview with some other band that I may or may not like.

new album "Cigarettes" out Spring 2025!

If you aren't happy with Sirius/XM Channel 22 and you cannot find anything else to listen to, cancel your subscription.
I didn't like the Impact tracks at first but I grew to really like some of these songs. The shout out by Jeff to DOA is really cool. I've gotten into X.

Anyways, I just find it really odd that PJ fans are all really nice and generally collective and social in their ideologies, yet when it comes to PJ helping out their friends by exposing their large fan base to music they may not have heard, they take a stand "PJ OR NOTHING! I'm paying for this!"
I have downloaded from iTunes some impact tracks I have never heard or forgot about by X, Bruce Springsteen, the Stones, Neil, Muddy Waters, etc.)

A lot of these tracks are deep tracks and I think it is cool. Once again, I can understand the complaint, but I like the band using the platform to help out their tour mates and influences. PJ has always been this way, I find it strange anyone would think the band wouldn't run the channel this way.
